Mo Abudu Shares New Photos As She Turns 55

Mo Abudu is 55 and she’s grateful to God for giving her strength to overcome several challenges.

Describing her new age in a sentence, “Challenge = Opportunity = Strength = Mo@55”.

From challenging movie productions to winning several awards, the Media Mogul is thankful for the year so far.

Looking back at the previous year, Mo Abudu made it to UK 100 Black Powerlist, she was awarded with an honorary doctorate degree by Westminster University, elected director of International academy of Television Arts & Sciences and several other awards.

Her Daughter, Temidayo Abudu got married to Adebola Makanjuola.

This and several reasons are why Mo Abudu is Thankful. She wrote,

I am truly filled with gratitude, I am grateful and thankful to my GOD ALMIGHTY as I turn 55 years old today 🙏🏽🙏🏽 As I look back over the last year, I know that it’s from my challenges that I have truly drawn strength. When a challenge comes my way, I take a deep breath, smile and I know God has my back. I have seen first hand, opportunities emerge from the challenges that I have been faced with. There is always a way, I have just had to WORK HARD and TRUST GOD knowing that TOGETHER we will figure it out. I am so grateful DEAR LORD that we have and we will continue TOGETHER to figure it out.

Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba and his wife Brunella have welcomed their second child, a baby boy. Uchemba shared the exciting news on December 11, 2024, through a heartfelt Instagram post.

The video showcased the couple’s journey, from their gender reveal party in September 2024 to Uchemba’s frantic rush to England after receiving the news of Brunella’s labour.

Despite missing the birth, Uchemba expressed his joy upon meeting his newborn son and shared a powerful moment of prayer and declaration over the child.

“MY GOOD GIFT IS HERE. MY BABY IS HERE! ETHAN CHIDUBEM UCHEMBAH Date of Birth: 9-12-2024,” he wrote in his post.

An outpouring of love and support from fans, followers, and celebrities alike met the couple’s announcement.

Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi extended her well wishes to the family. She said, “Beautifullll. Congratulations to you and your beautiful wife. God is the greatest.”

Singer Johnny Drille said, “Congratulations my bro 🥹 God bless your family ♥️”.

Real Warri Pikin also commented, “Awwwww Ethan is soo Cute❤️And This is soo beautiful to watch congratulations to your family,”

Williams Uchemba and his wife became engaged in October 2020 and exchanged vows in a beautiful wedding ceremony the following month.

In 2022, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Chikamara. The proud father shared the joyous news on his Instagram page on February 13, 2022.

Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh has spoken out against body shaming on social media. On December 10, 2024, she shared a common saying on Instagram: “Before you body shame any woman, show us your mother.”

Tonto Dikeh used this statement to highlight the importance of respecting women’s bodies and avoiding harmful criticism of their appearance.

She wrote,

“This statement highlights the hypocrisy of men/women who body-shame women, especially those whose physical changes result from natural processes like childbirth. It calls for self-reflection and empathy, reminding them to consider the sacrifices and transformations women, including their own mothers, often go through in life.”

Dikeh’s post sparked numerous reactions from her followers, who shared their own experiences and perspectives on body shaming.

One follower commented, “Most times the body shaming comes from a fellow woman, and it’s so sad 😢😢😢😢.”

Even Nigerian celebrities aren’t immune to body shaming in the age of social media. Recently, veteran actress Kate Henshaw faced online criticism.

On September 17, 2024, she posted a fun video to X (formerly Twitter), showcasing her dance moves in the gym with a colleague.

The video was accompanied by a cheerful caption, “Energy never lies… No matter what, never lose your joy… Hold fast to it.. E get why.. Have a truly lovely day my authentic X family,” which was met with a range of responses from her followers.

A negative comment read, “Flat yansh. Aunty Kate, this your to match gym outfits ehnnn. Give me some now.”

One of Henshaw’s followers then slammed the X user, saying,

“What a stupid, backhanded comment to post. Real women lift each other up, not pass backhanded compliments. For the record, a backhanded compliment is a comment that blurs the line between insult and compliment. Apologise to Kate and moving forward, think before you post.”

Henshaw responded to her follower, saying, “She knew what she did… I don’t need her apology…Thanks Elyzabeth.”
