Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala In Mo Abudu's New Docu-Series | Fab.ng

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the former Nigerian minister and current Director General of the World Trade Organisation, has revealed her participation in an upcoming docu-series, “Black, Brilliant and Bold“, by filmmaker, Mo Abudu.

Taking to her official Twitter account, Okonjo-Iweala shared the news along with behind-the-scenes images, expressing her excitement about filming “Black, Brilliant and Bold” with the incomparable Mo Abudu for Netflix.

The docu-series, Black, Brilliant and Bold is a groundbreaking project aimed at celebrating and showcasing the remarkable achievements of Black women worldwide. It will explore Okonjo-Iweala’s journey into the world of finance, along with stories of accomplished Black women from diverse fields such as science, technology, arts, activism, and politics.

Mo Abudu, the filmmaker, announced the start of production on social media, emphasizing the project’s significance in highlighting the often-overlooked accomplishments of Black women.

“I’m thrilled to announce the start of a new chapter in my life as I kick off production today, November 4th, 2023, for a project close to my heart. This project, which has been two years in the making during my tenure as an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School and the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research, celebrates the incredible achievements of Black Women”.

The series, which has been two years in the making, stems from Abudu’s time as an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School and the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research.

While the release date for the Black, Brilliant and Bold series has not been disclosed, the ongoing filming is taking place in various locations worldwide.
