D’banj, also known as The Kokomaster, aka Bangalee, has been rocking the music scene for a whopping twenty years—yes, two whole decades. To celebrate this huge milestone, he’s dropped a fresh new single called “Since ’04.”
Before he became a music sensation, D’banj started as an engineer. But in 2004, he decided to dive headfirst into the world of music, scoring a sweet record deal with Don Jazzy’s Mo’ Hits label. It was a big leap, and it paid off big time.
His debut single, “Tongolo,” which hit the airwaves in 2005 as part of his album “No Long Thing,” was an instant smash. From then on, D’banj kept the hits coming, blessing us with chart-toppers like “Fall In Love,” “Mo Gbono Feli Feli,” “Suddenly,” “Why Me,” “Oliver Twist,” and “Emergency.”
Now, as he looks back on his incredible journey and shares his latest tune, “Since ’04,” D’banj is feeling grateful for all the love and support from his fans. And with two decades of music-making under his belt, there’s no stopping this music legend!
“I’m dropping a track that is dear to my heart. One of my favs yet. Been at it since ‘04 and I feel like I’m just starting ⭐️ When I look back at my journey as your favourite entertainer, many names pop up in my mind for their various contributions to D’banj. Today, I celebrate Mo’ Hits.. the group and our team. What a SOLID team we had. Don Jazzy, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, D’Prince and Kay Switch. My brothers were the best! Together we elevated this game and showed them things that could happen… “
