It went viral on the social media platform and exploded in popularity. “Love Nwantiti” is the lead track on CKay’s EP “CKay The First,” and it’s become a cultural sensation.

Here’s a glimpse of how big “Love Nwantiti” has become:

Record-breaking success in the US

“Love Nwantiti” holds the title for the most certified Nigerian song ever in the United States. It’s achieved a whopping eight-time platinum certification by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). This is a huge accomplishment for both CKay and Afrobeats music as a whole.

Billboard Hot 100 chart success

The song’s popularity wasn’t limited to social media. It climbed the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US. There, it reached a peak position of number 26. This mainstream recognition further solidified “Love Nwantiti” as a major hit.

Viral fame and lasting impact

The song’s journey began with a surge on TikTok, and that spark continues to fuel its success. “Love Nwantiti” has become a global anthem that is enjoyed by people all over the world. This lasting impact is evident in its ongoing certifications and enduring popularity.

With its massive success, “Love Nwantiti” is paving the way for Afrobeats music. It’s on track to becoming the first Afrobeats song ever to be certified diamond in the US (which requires 10 times platinum). This would be a historic achievement for CKay and the entire Afrobeats genre.

Coachella: See How Nigerian Artistes Showed Up | Fab.ng

Coachella, the undisputed king of summer music festivals (and some would say the entire year!), wasn’t just about the music this year. Nigerian artists came to slay, not only with their incredible performances but also with their on-point fashion sense.

From show-stopping stage outfits that shimmered under the desert lights to effortlessly cool looks that dominated street-style snaps, these talented Nigerians made sure all eyes were on them.

Here’s a closer look at how they brought their A-game and stole the show at Coachella!

Fireboy DML brought a fresh, Gen Z vibe to Coachella. He rocked a loose-fitting jersey that proudly displayed the Nigerian coat of arms, paired with super baggy pants. It was a cool and casual look that felt perfect for the festival atmosphere.

Joining the Nigerian takeover at Coachella was DJ Spinall! He wasn’t there to perform with a band, but he kept the party going with a hot DJ set. Staying true to his signature style, DJ Spinall rocked a classic white shirt and trousers, finishing the look off with his well-known cap and scarf.

Nigerian superstar Tems absolutely blew everyone away at Coachella! Channelling the legendary Diana Ross, she looked like royalty in a stunning black sequined gown. With her voluminous, fluffy hair, she absolutely commanded the stage. But Tems didn’t stop there. She surprised the audience (and the entire internet!) with an epic performance alongside Wizkid and even Justin Bieber. Needless to say, the crowd went wild!
