Basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo, of Greek-Nigerian descent, has revealed the release of his documentary film, “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey,” on Prime Video.
Additionally, the Milwaukee Bucks player shared the news of the launch of his new media company, Improbable Media, on X.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Antetokounmpo stated,
“Proud to announce the launch of @ImprobableMedia with my family and our first feature-length production. It’s the true story about me and my family’s journey, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Premieres February 19th on @PrimeVideo.”

The documentary “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey” unfolds Giannis Antetokounmpo’s rise from a challenging childhood in Greece as a Nigerian immigrant to becoming a renowned professional basketball player. It gives an intimate look into the life of the two-time league MVP and his impressive achievements, including the coveted Finals MVP award.
According to a report from ShockNg, the newly established business venture involves a collaboration between Giannis, his brothers, and Jay Williams, an ESPN analyst and former NBA player.
In July 2023, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s visit to Nigeria was documented in a homecoming documentary film. The film, created in partnership with WhatsApp, highlighted the basketball superstar’s return to his parents’ native country after 28 years abroad.
The athlete also announced the availability of the WhatsApp documentary on both Prime Video and YouTube.
“I’m ready to share this experience with you all through UGO, my homecoming documentary with @WhatsApp, now streaming on @primevideo and YouTube #TheresNoOneLikeUs,” he said.
