Fans were treated to thrilling live performances by Nigerian music sensation Qing Madi as part of the “Vevo DSCVR Artists to Watch in 2024” events. During this special performance, the singer sang versions of two of her hit songs, “Vision” and “Ole” which are both from her first EP, “Qing Madi”.

“Ole” credits Wademix and Ozedikus for production, while “Vision” was expertly produced by PD. Along with showcasing Qing Madi’s musical abilities, these performances give her adored songs to listeners in a personal and captivating way.

About Qing Madi

Born in Benin City, Edo State, on July 1, 2006, Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma is a gifted Nigerian singer, composer, and dancer better known by her stage name, Qing Madi. With the publication of the popular single “See Finish” which signalled the start of her significant presence in the music industry, her ascent to fame gathered pace.

Qing Madi’s early years in Benin City were influenced by her mother and brothers. Showing an early love of music, she started her artistic career by singing in the adult choir at her church and taking part in school talent contests.

The 2022 single “See Finish” which garnered a lot of attention, especially on the well-known social media platform TikTok, was Qing Madi’s big break. Building on this success, she has since released two additional singles, showcasing her versatility and musical range within the Afrobeat, Pop, Soul, and R&B genres.

The rising star’s prominence in the music industry soared, leading to a notable performance at the Homecoming event in Lagos, Nigeria. This live showcase marked a milestone in her burgeoning career, solidifying her status as a promising artist to watch.

In 2023, Qing Madi was honoured with a noteworthy award in appreciation of her increasing presence and artistic abilities. Her prominence in the African music scene was further raised when she was selected for the June Spotify Africa Equal Ambassador by the popular music streaming service.

The collaboration between Qing Madi and Bnxn on the song “Ole” which was released on July 21, 2023, struck a chord with listeners. The song not only achieved remarkable success on multiple Apple Music charts, but it also achieved a noteworthy ranking of number 12 on the Turntable Official Nigeria Top 100. Then “Ole” was included to the Official Charts Afrobeats Chart, where it peaked on August 19 at a very respectable number 16.
