Similar to the previous comment, Editi Effiong acknowledged the innate storytelling skills of Nigerians but stressed the importance of delving further into the historical and cultural complexity, especially when considering the effects of military dictatorship and corruption from the 1970s onward. With Richard Mofe-Damijo on board, Anakle Films hopes to elevate its storytelling to a new plane as it investigates and delivers stories that capture the spirit and truths of the country’s history and present.
The employment of RMD, a seasoned professional in Nigeria’s entertainment sector, is in line with Anakle Films’ goal to carry on its tradition of creating remarkable and thought-provoking content that appeals to a wide range of viewers. This calculated action opens a new chapter in Anakle Films’ history by utilising the plethora of experiences and knowledge that Richard Mofe-Damijo brings to the table, intending to push the boundaries of African storytelling to new frontiers.
