Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as ‘Wizkid’ mourns his mother, Late Princess (Mrs.) Juliana Morayo Balogun (JP) at her Wake & Tribute Ceremony, which was held on Thursday, October 12th at the Balmoral Hall in Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.
Numerous celebrities who attended the wake-keep service demonstrated the industry’s unity by coming together to support Wizkid during this difficult period. Famous figures including Wande Coal, DJ Tunez, Godson, T. Dosumu, and Femmy were among those who showed up to offer their sympathies and support Wizkid as he said goodbye to Mrs Balogun, his mother.
The occasion emphasised the human side of famous people and their capacity to band together at difficult times, going beyond their public personalities to support and console one of their own. It was a heart-warming moment that showed how strong the entertainment industry’s solidarity is and how crucial it is to support one another during life’s most trying times.
At the wake-keep ceremony for his mother, Wizkid gave an emotional and heartfelt speech. Wizkid’s intense sorrow and his attempts to comfort his first son Boluwatife at Mrs. Balogun’s wake-keeping ceremony were significant aspects of this event. Wizkid shared a remarkable speech stating he had no words to explain the pain he felt, and he was sure his family also felt the same pain.
He stated:
“I have no words to describe the pain i feel and I know that everyone of my family shares this pain with me…”
It was quite a sad moment to witness the artist bid farewell to his mother, Late Princess (Mrs.) Juliana Morayo Balogun (JP).
Who is Late Princess (MRS.) Juliana Morayo Balogun (JP)?
Late Princess (MRS.) Juliana Morayo Balogun (JP) was born on July 4th, 1957. She entered into matrimony within a polygamous family, becoming one of the wives of M.O Balogun. She is survived by her husband and four children, namely Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubuasyo Balogun, and Ayodeji Balogun, who is more widely known as Wizkid. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous grandchildren.
The funeral will nonetheless take place today, October 13, 2023. As Wizkid and his family navigate this difficult time and move on, we send them our best wishes for courage.
