EPL vs La Liga: Unai Emery Declares Strongest League

Unai Emery Declares Strongest League | Fab.ng

Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has shared his perspective on the ongoing debate regarding the world’s best football league. With a coaching career spanning both the Premier League and La Liga, Emery offers valuable insights.

Emery, who has previously managed clubs in prominent leagues such as the English Premier League, French Ligue 1, and Spanish La Liga, has a rich managerial history, including stints with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Paris Saint-Germain, Villarreal, Valencia, and Sevilla.

His most notable achievement came when he guided Sevilla to three consecutive UEFA Europa League titles from 2014 to 2016. Emery now aspires to replicate this success with his current team, Aston Villa.

Unai Emery Picks The Best League In The World

When discussing his views on the best league in the world, Emery expressed a clear preference for the Premier League. He explained that, in terms of competitiveness, the Premier League stands out as the strongest.

He noted that the league is characterized by a particular calibre of clubs.

Emery said,

“On a competitive level, the Premier League is the strongest league. When you’re here, you feel it.”

Emery further elaborated on his choice saying that while other leagues, such as La Liga, Ligue 1, and Serie A, also boast formidable teams like Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and AC Milan, the Premier League features clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea with the capacity to compete at a high level. Furthermore, even mid-table teams in the Premier League possess the ability to attract top-tier talent from other leagues, contributing to the league’s competitiveness.

In his words,

“There is a certain selection of the best in the Premier League.

There are clubs like Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Juventus or AC Milan that are still capable of having a lot of strength in their leagues, but here there are clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea that are able to do that too, and the mid-table teams also have a very high capacity to be able to sign the best players from other leagues. So, twenty very competitive teams are made.”

Aston Villa, under Emery’s leadership, is among the clubs aspiring to challenge the Premier League’s established giants. As of now, they hold a respectable fifth position in the league table, surpassing teams like Chelsea and Manchester United in their pursuit of success.

Taiwo Awoniyi Sets A Premier League Record | Fab.ng

Nigeria’s star striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has etched his name in the English Premier League history books. He recently claimed the coveted title of “Highest Shot Conversion Rate” since the previous season commenced. His impressive feat has turned heads across the league, solidifying his position as a player to watch.

Taiwo Awoniyi, the Nigerian striker, is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Liverpool.

Despite being sidelined for 12 games due to injuries, he has delivered an impressive performance on the pitch.

In fact, his performance has surpassed that of other well-known players. One of the players is Erling Haaland, the Norwegian striker who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund. Others include Hee-Chan Hwang from RB Leipzig, Callum Wilson from Newcastle United, Diogo Jota from Liverpool, and Ivan Toney from Brentford.

Taiwo Awoniyi is currently firing on all cylinders. Reports reveal a remarkable shot conversion rate of 28.6%. This shot conversion exceeds even the prolific Erling Haaland of Manchester City, whose rate sits at 26.1%.

What makes this feat even more impressive? While Haaland boasts a higher total of 52 goals since last season, Awoniyi has achieved his success with just 16 goals. This means he’s making the most of his chances, converting them into goals at a rate that surpasses even some of the league’s top scorers.

Following his triumphant return from injury, Taiwo Awoniyi has been on a tear for Nottingham Forest. He has netted twice in his last five matches. His crucial opening goal in the 2-0 triumph over West Ham United proved instrumental in propelling the team further away from the dreaded relegation zone.

While his dream of representing Nigeria at the 2023 AFCON tournament may have been put on hold, Taiwo Awoniyi’s unwavering commitment to his club is evident.

As the team gears up for a Premier League clash against Aston Villa, all eyes will be glued to Awoniyi. Football stans are eager to see if he can maintain his exceptional form.
