Niki Akinmolayan has released the first look of his latest project a psychological thriller drama titled “House of Secrets”.

The movie is described as a dreamy romance, thriller shot as a film noir apparently a black and white visual style

However, there hasn’t been a detailed description of the plot summary for the movie, but it is written by Dolapo Adigun and Niki Akinmolayan.

The psychological thriller drama is directed by Niki Akinmolayan and the cast include Shawn Faqua, Efe Irele, Kate Henshaw and Onajite Dede

The upcoming black classic movie “The Color Purple” holds a lot of expectations as it centres around music, sisterhood, history and woman power.

The movie is a musical reboot of the 1985 classic which is based on a novel by Alice Walker. The movie is directed by Blitz Bazawule and produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones.

It premieres only in theatres on December 25th, 2023.

The movie is about an extraordinary sisterhood, focusing on three women who share an unbreakable bond. It stars Taraji Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Halle Bailey, H.E.R, Corey Hawkins, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Fantasia Barino. See the trailer below.

The Little Mermaid“, Ariel, the youngest daughter of King Triton, is a curious and adventurous mermaid who desires to explore the world above the water.

She falls in love with Prince Eric and makes a deal with the wicked sea witch, Ursula, to trade her enchanting voice for a pair of human legs. This arrangement allows Ariel to venture onto land and try to win the heart of the prince.

The movie would be released on the 26th of May.

The highly-anticipated 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held on Saturday, 20 May, 2023 in Lagos and it was an unforgettable night of glitz, glamour, emotional speeches and meritorious recognition of Africa’s best in entertainment and film.

The evening kicked off with exciting fashion ensembles and dapper tuxedos on the famed red carpet. See the stunning red carpet looks here.

The coveted awards ceremony recognized and celebrated extraordinary talent in the African entertainment industry, with over 30 categories spanning television shows, movies, and other creative endeavors.

Bimbo Ademoye won the Best Actress in a Comedy award for her leading role in “Selina”, while Samuel Perry popularly known as Brother Shaggi received the Best Actor in a Comedy award for his performance in “Inside Life.”

Best Actor in a Drama or TV series award went to Tobi Bakre for his stellar performance in “Brotherhood.”

Osas Ighodaro won Best Actress in a Drama/TV series.

The biggest winners of the night were Kunle Afolayan’s “Anikulapo” and Jade Osiberu’s “Brotherhood” with five wins each from their numerous nominations.

Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor (Mama G) received the industry merit award from the AMVCA while young actress Angel Unigwe won the Trailblazer Award.
