Mo Abudu Shares Official Poster for Her Short Film “Her Perfect Life”

Mo Abudu has released the official poster for her next short film, “Her Perfect Life“.

The movie addresses the subject of mental health and will make its debut at the Cannes Short Film Corner and the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival.

In the film, Pearl Thusi plays Onajite Johnson Ibrahim, a successful woman who seems to have it all but is actually dealing with depression and suicide thoughts. The movie addresses the hidden mental health issues that people with seemingly ideal lives can experience and seeks to increase awareness of the problem.

The movie also stars Joseph Benjamin, Omowunmi Dada, Uzor Osimpka, and Mary Lazarus, in addition to Pearl Thusi. The main characters and Thusi were photographed for the poster by Kelechi Amadi-Obi.

The first two films on Mo Abudu Films’ slate under his new label are “Her Perfect Life” and “Iyawo Mi (My Wife).” Both films have been chosen to appear at the August 4–12 Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival and the Cannes Short Film Corner, which aim to highlight emerging directors.
