EbonyLife TV has announced this year’s EbonyLife TV Sisterhood Awards, which will be hosted in special partnership with the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ).
According to the CEO and Chairwoman of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu: “This year’s Sisterhood Awards are truly a cause for excitement, as we empower women to work together and accomplish great things, we celebrate those women who have excelled in their fields. The first EbonyLife TV Sisterhood Awards took place in 2014 as part of the 50th birthday celebration for media entrepreneur Mo Abudu. The inaugural event set the precedent for an awards ceremony that continues to honor women who have accomplished achievements in their areas of expertise and have yet to receive recognition for their excellence.
The ten award categories include Film and TV Director of the Year, Fashion Designer of the Year, Philanthropist of the Year, TV Personality of the Year, and more. The recipients of the 2014 awards were Mosunmola Umoru, Entrepreneur of the Year; Chioma Omeruah (Chigul), Comedienne of the Year; Aisha Augie Auta, Photographer of the Year; Crystal Chigbu, Philanthropist of the Year; Ema Edosio, Film & TV Director of the Year; Ifeyinwa Ojekwe, Made in Nigeria Product of the Year; Mai Atafo– Man of the Year; Bisola Adeniyi, Fashion Designer of the Year; and Chief Nike Okundaye Davies, Lifetime Achievement Award. According to EbonyLife TV, criteria for award recipients is based solely on excellence, dedication, innovation, impact, and integrity.
The EbonyLife TV Sisterhood Awards will be held at the grand Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria, on November 4, 2016. Nominations are currently being accepted and will be closed on Saturday, October 1, 2016. More information can be found at HERE
On November 12, 2024, Nollywood actor Charles Okocha celebrated his marriage to his long-time partner after seven years together. The actor took to Instagram to share a playful video from his white wedding, showcasing his energetic dance moves in a stylish white suit.
In a humorous touch, Charles Okocha thanked his music idol, Jay Z, for attending the wedding, a lighthearted joke that amused his fans.
