The tour by Asake rides the wave of success from his third album ‘Lungu Boy’. The album boasts a lineup of collaborations. The album features Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American powerhouse Travis Scott, and Brazilian sensation Ludmilla.
‘Lungu Boy’ shattered Spotify Nigeria records, amassing a staggering 18.9 million streams in its opening week. This feat surpassed the previous record of 14.4 million streams held by Davido’s ‘Timeless’.
Asake now leads the pack for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria. Further, he outperformed industry giants Davido, Rema, Burna Boy, and Wizkid. He also claims the unique distinction of having two albums in the top 10. His sophomore effort ‘Work Of Art’ secured 8.3 million streams in its debut week.
The album’s global impact resonated strongly, setting a new benchmark for Nigerian albums on Spotify with 9.2 million streams on its opening day worldwide.
‘MMS’, the album’s second track, blazed a new trail on Spotify Nigeria. It garnered 870,577 streams on its first day, eclipsing the previous record of 626,000 streams set by Wizkid’s ‘IDK’ featuring Zlatan.
