Victor Osimhen, a striker for the Nigerian national team (Super Eagles), might be moving to Chelsea Football Club soon. At the same time, Romelu Lukaku could be joining Napoli, where Antonio Conte is the new coach.

Napoli is open to discussing a deal that would send Osimhen to Chelsea for the upcoming season. This would be a loan deal. In return, Romelu Lukaku would join Napoli permanently.

Chelsea has been interested in Osimhen for a long time. They like his skills as a player. However, they don’t want to pay his full release clause, which is believed to be around €130 million. A release clause is an amount of money set in a player’s contract that allows them to leave if another team pays that amount.

This swap deal could be good for both teams. Napoli wants to sign Lukaku and bring him back together with their new head coach, Antonio Conte. Lukaku and Conte worked together before at Inter Milan.

Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020, Osimhen has scored 76 goals in 133 games. Last season, he scored 15 goals. But the season before that was even better for him. He scored 26 goals and helped Napoli win their first Italian league title (Scudetto) since 1990.

According to The Athletic, a sports news website, the deal for Osimhen would be a loan for one season. Chelsea would also have the option to buy him permanently after the loan.

Before this news about Chelsea, Osimhen was reportedly close to joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), a big team in France. However, PSG didn’t want to pay Osimhen’s full release clause. Because of this, they have stopped trying to sign him.

This potential deal shows how complex football transfers can be. It involves multiple players, teams, and coaches. It also shows how a player’s relationship with a coach (like Lukaku and Conte) can influence transfer decisions. EA Sports has once again brought football and music together by unveiling the soundtrack for the 25th edition of EA Football Club. This year, Afrobeats takes centre stage. Nigerian music sensations Rema, Shallipopi, and Omah Lay feature alongside a global lineup of artists. The highly anticipated football video game will launch on September 27, 2024.

Rema’s hit single “Benin Boys,” which features Shallipopi and Omah Lay’s chart-topping track “Moving,” are among the highlights of this year’s soundtrack. These tracks show the expanding global influence of African music, particularly Afrobeats, in the world of sports entertainment.

This year marks Rema’s second appearance on the EA Football Club soundtrack. He first featured on FIFA 21’s VOLTA Football soundtrack with his track “Beamer.” That soundtrack also included notable Nigerian artists such as Fireboy DML, Burna Boy, Ms. Banks, and Nnena.

Joining the Afrobeats representation is UK-based Nigerian artist Obongjayar, whose 2022 hit “Tomorrow Man” also features on the game’s extensive tracklist.

In total, the soundtrack boasts over 100 songs. It brings together an eclectic mix of international talent. British artist Self Esteem contributes with her song “Big Man.” The song features South African singer Moonchild Sanelly, while Gambian-British rapper Pa Salieu’s track “Allergy” adds another layer of diversity.

British-Nigerian jazz collective Ezra Collective also makes an appearance with their vibrant track “God Gave Me Feet for Dancing.” The song features the soulful vocals of Yazmin Lacey.
