The AFRIFF Honour aims to recognise and honour the exceptional abilities and commitment of people who have made major contributions to the Nigerian and African film industries. This renowned awards ceremony is sponsored by MTN, a global leader in telecommunications, demonstrating its dedication to advancing the Nigerian film industry.

Each actor and actress is being recognised for their work in particular films that have received praise and acclaim. As an illustration, Richard Mofe-Damijo is honoured for his part in “The Black Book”, whilst Nse Ikpe-Etim is given recognition for her work in “4-4-44”. These honours attest to the extraordinary ability and creativity that have been displayed in these films.

The AFRIFF Honour marks an important turning point in honouring the extraordinary talents that have elevated Nollywood to a major player on the world stage. It also emphasises how critical it is to recognise and honour the talents and accomplishments of actors and actresses, both within and outside of Nigeria. This acknowledgment not only improves Nollywood’s status in the movie business but also inspires other actors and actresses to pursue excellence in their field.

The 12th AFRIFF is slated to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, from November 5 to November 11. Chioma Ude founded this film festival in 2010, and it features a wide range of films from various genres, including feature-length films, documentaries, short films, cartoons, and student shorts. In addition to cinema screenings, the event includes seminars and panel discussions given by business professionals who debate and respond to inquiries about the Nollywood film industry.

In conclusion, The AFRIFF Honours ceremony highlights the rising admiration and acknowledgement of Nollywood actors and actresses who have greatly aided the development and prosperity of the business. Actors and actresses are receiving more recognition for their exceptional performances, which signals a promising time for Nigerian cinema both domestically and internationally.
