Understanding Virginity And The 5 Kinds Of Virgins

Published

on

The word virginity is one of the most misplaced/misquoted/misused/misguided words used to define sexuality known to man. Virginity within the context of this write-up is used to define the sexuality of a female mainly because; no one really cares if a male is a virgin and there is no concrete biological evidence used to ascertain the virginity of a male.
Talking about virginity as it affects a female isn’t that simple. Virginity used to be identified with the presence of a hymen but it isn’t that simple anymore. The hymen is a membrane that surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening which gets torn as soon as a female is penetrated is no longer a viable form of identifying a virgin anymore.
According to social belief, a virgin is one that has never had sex with a man before. From a religious perspective, a virgin is one that has decided to forego her sexually active past and chosen to remain chaste till marriage. From the biological inclination, a virgin is one that has her hymen intact. Lastly from a cultural point of view, a virgin is a naïve, inexperienced, sexually inactive lady that has never had sex.
Let’s take a look at the different types of virgins.
The Virgin’s Virgin a.k.a The Virgin
This is the girl who is informed of sexual matters but has chosen to remain untouched literally. She’s the kind of virgin that has probably kissed or even allowed a guy get to second base (her breasts) but that’s the most any guy has gone. Her vagina has never been seen or touched. This is the virgin’s virgins. They are made up mostly of religious fanatics, feminists and what we call in Africa “holy holy girls”.
The Technical Virgin
This is the most famous type of virgin. You know the virgin that has never really had penetrative sex but has done every other sexual act known to man? This is her. She’s the kind of virgin that isn’t even sure of her virginity. I remember reading the humorous story of a pregnant technical virgin. According to her, she never had penetrated sex but found herself pregnant and was shocked. Could a technical virgin get pregnant? Of course. A technical virgin might not have been penetrated but as long as she engages in the sexual act I call “kiss and tell” whereby the tip of the penis robs sexually against the clitoris and the entrance of the vagina. If her partner ejaculates at the entrance of her vagina, semen could accidentally slip into the vagina coupled with the enabling environment around a sexuality stimulated swim into her and fertilize an egg. A technical virgin has never had penetrative sex mainly because of fear not resolve. The fear of sexual pain, the fear of pregnancy, the fear of STDs. Some technical virgins are more sexually experienced (except penetration) than many sexually active girls.
The Deflowered Virgin
This is the girl that has been disvirgined but not penetration by a man. This could be as a result of the insertion of fingers, candle, the end of a toothbrush/hair comb/pencil and many other obscene objects into the vagina for stimulation (trust me, it happens). These objects could be inserted by the girl during masturbation, by a guy during foreplay or by another girl (lesbianism). The introduction of these objects tears the hymen and renders her biologically dis-virgined even though she hasn’t had proper sex before.
The Accidental Virgin
The accidental virgin and the disvirgined virgin are both similar but the difference lies in the intent. Whereas the disvirgined virgin had her hymen torn consciously/intentionally, the accidental virgin’s hymen may be lacerated by disease, injury, medical examination or physical exercise.
The Justifiable Virgin
Last but definitely not the least is the justifiable virgin. Simply put, these are the girls unfortunate enough to lose their virginity in the cruelest way; rape, incest or even pedophilia. Their hymens might be broken, they may have been penetrated but due to the non consensual nature of the act (it was not their choice), they are also considered virgins, I believe they have a right to.
So there you have it, virginity has been simplified and broken down into the simplest form possible. This goes a long way to show you that the state of the hymen is not a conclusive indicator of virginity. Next time someone claims to be a virgin, just ask “what sort of virgin are you?

Did You Know Oral Sex Can Be Harmful? Here’s Why

Oral Sex Health Risks | fab.ng

Why Oral Sex Can Be Harmful to Your Health

Many people believe that oral sex is a safer alternative to other sexual activities, but research clearly shows otherwise. Oral sex health risks can be significant and even severe in some cases.

Understanding these oral sex health risks is crucial for making informed choices about your sexual well-being. Engaging in unprotected oral sex can expose you to infections like HPV, herpes, and syphilis, which can have long-term health consequences.

Being aware of oral sex health risks helps you take preventive steps to protect yourself and your partner. Additionally, practising good oral hygiene and using protection can lower the chances of contracting infections.

By acknowledging the oral sex health risks, individuals can make safer decisions and avoid potential health complications.

1. Exposure to Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

Oral sex can expose you to various sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Unlike common perception, STIs don’t only spread through vaginal or anal intercourse; they can also spread through oral contact. Here are some common STIs you might contract through oral sex:

  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV): HPV is one of the most prevalent STIs globally. Oral HPV infections, especially certain strains, are linked to oropharyngeal cancers, which affect the throat, tonsils, and tongue.
  • Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV): Oral herpes (HSV-1) can be transmitted through oral-genital contact. Genital herpes (HSV-2) can also infect the mouth, leading to sores and discomfort.
  • Chlamydia and Gonorrhea: Both can infect the throat and lead to pharyngitis (inflammation of the throat). Symptoms might include a sore throat, pain, and swelling, but sometimes they present no symptoms, making the infections easy to overlook.
  • Syphilis: Syphilis can cause oral sores that are often painless. If untreated, syphilis can progress to more severe stages, affecting organs and even causing neurological issues.

2. Increased Risk of Throat Cancer

Research shows that oral sex can increase the risk of throat cancers, primarily due to the transmission of HPV. HPV, especially high-risk strains like HPV-16, can cause cancer in the oropharynx.

This area includes parts of the throat behind the mouth, the base of the tongue, and the tonsils. HPV-related throat cancers are on the rise, particularly among people who have multiple oral sex partners.

Early symptoms might include persistent sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and lumps in the neck.

3. Risks from Bacterial Infections

Oral sex can expose individuals to bacterial infections, which may cause discomfort and serious health issues if untreated.

  • Gonorrhea: Gonorrhea of the throat, also known as pharyngeal gonorrhoea, can cause symptoms like sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and swelling. Some cases might show no symptoms, making the infection harder to detect.
  • Chlamydia: Chlamydia can infect the throat, leading to pain, swelling, and sore throat symptoms. Like pharyngeal gonorrhoea, it can sometimes present without symptoms.
  • Mycoplasma Genitalium: This lesser-known bacterium is gaining attention for its ability to infect both the genitals and the throat. If untreated, it may lead to long-term health issues, including infertility.

4. Potential for HIV Transmission

Although less common, HIV transmission through oral sex is still possible. The virus can enter the body through small cuts or sores in the mouth.

The risk is higher if the partner has cuts, sores, or bleeding gums or if there is ejaculation in the mouth.

Although the chances of contracting HIV through oral sex are generally low, they increase if one partner is HIV-positive and there are other untreated STIs present.

5. Risk of Hepatitis Transmission

Hepatitis viruses, particularly hepatitis A, B, and C, can spread through oral-genital contact.

  • Hepatitis A: This virus spreads through oral contact with faecal matter, which can occur during certain sexual activities. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes).
  • Hepatitis B and C: Hepatitis B can be transmitted through body fluids, including saliva. Hepatitis C transmission through oral sex is less common, but it can still happen, especially if there are cuts or sores in the mouth. Both viruses can lead to chronic liver infections and, in some cases, liver cancer.

6. Higher Risk of Bacterial Imbalance

Oral sex can introduce bacteria from the mouth into the genitals and vice versa. This transfer can lead to bacterial infections, including:

  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Bacteria from the mouth can enter the urethra, leading to UTIs. Symptoms often include burning during urination, frequent urges to urinate, and lower abdominal pain.
  • Bacterial Vaginosis (BV): BV can result from an imbalance of bacteria in the vagina, and certain bacteria in the mouth can trigger it. Symptoms may include unusual vaginal discharge, odour, and irritation.

7. Increased Risk of Herpes Transmission

Herpes is easily transmissible through oral-genital contact, especially when there are active sores or blisters. Even if there are no visible sores, herpes can still spread through “viral shedding.”

This is where the virus is present on the skin. HSV-1, typically associated with cold sores, can infect the genitals, while HSV-2 can infect the mouth. Once contracted, herpes is a lifelong condition with periodic outbreaks.

8. Development of Oral Thrush and Other Fungal Infections

Oral thrush, caused by an overgrowth of Candida (a type of yeast), can occur due to bacterial imbalance from oral sex. Oral thrush leads to white patches on the tongue, sore throat, and mouth discomfort.

Immunocompromised individuals are particularly susceptible to fungal infections through oral sex.

Risk Factors that Increase Oral Sex Health Risks

Certain behaviours and factors can elevate the oral sex health risks:

  • Multiple Partners: Engaging in oral sex with multiple partners increases exposure to STIs, making infection more likely.
  • Unprotected Oral Sex: Not using protection (like condoms or dental dams) raises the risk of contracting infections.
  • Oral Health Issues: Having cuts, sores, or bleeding gums can provide a pathway for infections.
  • Weakened Immune System: Individuals with weakened immune systems may be more susceptible to infections through oral sex.

How to Reduce the Health Risks Associated with Oral Sex

While risks are present, taking precautions can reduce the likelihood of infection:

  • Use Protection: Dental dams and condoms provide a barrier that minimizes exposure to bodily fluids and reduces the risk of infection.
  • Regular STI Testing: Routine testing can help detect infections early, allowing for prompt treatment and reducing the risk of transmission.
  • Good Oral Hygiene: Maintaining oral health by regularly brushing and flossing can lower the risk of infections. Avoid engaging in oral sex if you have mouth sores or cuts.
  • Limit Number of Partners: Reducing the number of sexual partners can decrease exposure to STIs.

Oral sex may seem like a lower-risk sexual activity, but it still comes with significant health risks. From STIs and bacterial infections to potential cancers, the health implications can be serious.

Knowing the oral sex health risks and adopting safe practices can help you make informed decisions about your sexual health. Protect yourself by taking preventive measures, practising good hygiene, and seeking regular medical care.

5 Positions To Try With Your Partner For Sexual Satisfaction

Sex Positions For Sexual Satisfaction | fab.ng

Trying different sex positions for sexual satisfaction allows you and your partner to break out of routine, strengthen your connection, and add excitement to your relationship.

By exploring new positions, you actively communicate, learn more about each other’s bodies, and enhance your shared pleasure.

It’s not just about physical gratification; these moments can build deeper emotional bonds as well.

If you’re looking to improve intimacy and elevate satisfaction, experimenting with sex positions for sexual satisfaction can be both exhilarating and rewarding.

Keep the experience light-hearted and adventurous, and don’t hesitate to adjust according to what feels best for you and your partner.

Below, we’ve outlined five positions to try if you’re eager to enhance your experience and explore sex positions for sexual satisfaction:

1. Elevated Missionary

Add a twist to the traditional missionary position by placing a pillow under the hips of the receiving partner. This small change creates a new angle, allowing for deeper penetration and enhanced clitoral stimulation.

Using this variation of sex positions for sexual satisfaction ensures comfort while maintaining intimacy through eye contact and gentle caresses.

Communicate with your partner throughout to find the perfect angle that maximizes pleasure for both of you.

2. Side-by-Side Spooning

The spooning position is an excellent choice for sex positions that promote closeness and sexual satisfaction. Both partners lie on their sides, with the penetrating partner behind.

This position not only enables deep penetration but also allows for affectionate touches and whispers, making it ideal for slow, sensual lovemaking sessions. It’s perfect for couples looking to blend intimacy with pleasure.

The position encourages full-body contact, which can be comforting and arousing, especially if you’re in the mood for a more relaxed experience.

3. Cowgirl or Woman on Top

Empower the receiving partner by letting them take the lead in this position. The cowgirl style is one of the most popular sex positions for sexual satisfaction because it provides control over depth and rhythm.

The receiving partner can adjust the speed and angle to stimulate sensitive areas, including the clitoris, ensuring maximum pleasure.

This position also allows for hands-free exploration, where you can incorporate caresses or even toys to intensify sensations.

4. Deep Doggy Style

For those looking for intense stimulation, a doggy style is a go-to option. The receiving partner gets on all fours, while the penetrating partner enters from behind.

This position allows for deep penetration, focusing on the G-spot for heightened sexual satisfaction. By adding variations, like leaning forward or changing the angle with a pillow, you can modify the experience for greater comfort and stimulation.

The angle and depth make it ideal for those seeking more intense sensations, and it’s perfect for partners who want to switch things up.

5. Flatiron Technique

For a blend of intimacy and intensity, try the flatiron position. The receiving partner lies flat on their stomach, legs together, while the penetrating partner lies on top, entering from behind.

This variation of sex positions for sexual satisfaction enhances closeness through full-body contact while maintaining the benefits of deep penetration.

This sex position is best for couples who want to feel connected yet adventurous. It’s an excellent option if you’re looking for a deeper, more intimate way to connect physically.

Here are Some Tips To Boost Your Libido

  • Exercise regularly: Physical activity can increase energy levels and improve sexual desire.
  • Eat a healthy diet: A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can improve overall health, including sexual function.
  • Manage stress: Chronic stress can negatively impact libido. Practice stress-relief techniques like yoga, meditation, or deep breathing.
  • Get enough sleep: Adequate sleep is essential for optimal hormonal function and energy levels.
  • Consider supplements: Some supplements, such as ginseng and maca root, may help boost libido.

Trying different positions with your partner can enhance your sex life and bring you closer together.

Remember that sexual satisfaction is not just about finding the “best” position, but about being in sync with your partner’s needs, desires, and comfort levels.

Keep the conversation open, experiment with what feels good, and most importantly, enjoy the journey together.
