Tems is a very famous singer from Nigeria. Many people around the world know her music. She recently showed that she especially supports the people of Nigeria. Tems was planning to release a new music video for her song called “Burning”. However, she decided to wait and not release it yet.

She made this decision because of the ongoing protest happening in Nigeria. The protest is about two main things: life being very hard for people, and the government not doing a good job.

On August 1, 2024, Tems announced it on X. In this message, she told everyone she was going to wait to release her music video. By doing this, Tems shows that she cares more about what’s happening in Nigeria.

“Out of respect for the ongoing protest at home, I have decided to postpone the release of Burning music video. Praying for the safety of those outside at this time. May the voice of the people be heard,” the post reads.

Tems is not the only famous person who spoke up about the protest. Many other artists and celebrities also called for better government in Nigeria. Some of these people are Vector, Omah Lay, Adekunle Gold, Spyro, Mr Macaroni, Iyabo Ojo, and Konstance. They all wrote messages on X using #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria hashtag.

The protest started on August 1st, 2024. People are protesting because life has become very hard in Nigeria. Indeed, things cost a lot more money now. This happened after President Bola Tinubu made some changes in the country.

The protesters went out on the streets in many different parts of Nigeria. They want two main things: First, they want the government to bring back help that made fuel and electricity cheaper. Second, they want the government to spend less money on itself.

Many people are happy that Tems decided to wait before releasing her “Burning” music video. The song “Burning” is part of her first full album called “Born In The Wild“. Although she didn’t say when she will release her music video now, people think she will probably release the video after the protest is over.

The rapper discussed his latest project, “Nothing Changed,” a collaborative effort with the Anti-World Gangsters crew. The album features Don Jazzy on the track “Asampete.”

OdumoduBlvck revealed that after recording “Asampete,” he felt the song would benefit from Don Jazzy’s contribution. When approached, Don Jazzy readily agreed to the request.

During their meeting, Don Jazzy not only added his vocals to the song but also surprised OdumoduBlvck with a generous gift of $10,000.

Impressively, Don Jazzy declined any royalties for his contribution to the track.

“When I went to his house to get his vocals, he gave me $10,000 and even my friend was asking me why he gave me such a huge amount of money,” he narrated in the interview.

OdumoduBlvck further praised Don Jazzy, describing him as the most original personality in the Nigerian music industry and a true icon.

“There’s nobody more original than Don Jazzy…The way the younger artists look up to Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Olamide today is how they used to look up to Don Jazzy”.
