Top 10 Google Searches Of 2023 In Nigeria | Fab.ng

Google recently unveiled its “Year in Google Searches” for 2023, offering insights into the top trends in Nigeria.

Mohbad, the late Nigerian singer, topped the search charts, followed by inquiries related to the Nigerian National Elections in February. People also sought information about chef Hilda Baci and Nollywood veteran actor Mr. Ibu.

In the entertainment industry, Jade Osiberu‘s crime thriller “Gangs of Lagos” took the top spot in Google’s movie search trends, followed by “Jagun Jagun“, “Extraction 2“, “Oppenheimer“, and “Barbie“.

Asake‘s “Lonely at the Top“, featuring H.E.R., secured the title of the most searched song on Google’s trending list. This track, part of his “Work of Art” album released in June 2023, gained popularity.

The recipe for Sex on the Beach cocktail emerged as the top searched recipe, and the iPhone 15 dominated as the most searched mobile device on Google.

Nigerians showed curiosity about the winner of the presidential election, Mohbad’s wife, fuel subsidies, and the meaning of “Idan”, one of the top slangs in the country for the year.

On the global stage, the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas took centre stage in search trends. “Barbie” claimed the title of the most searched movie, while “The Last of Us” secured the top spot for the most searched TV show.
