Mr. Ibu Seeks Public Assistance As He Battles Ailment | Fab.ng

Nigerian comic actor, Mr. Ibu, whose real name is John Okafor, recently reached out for help concerning a medical issue.

He took to Instagram to share a video from his hospital bed. In the video, he revealed that he’s been unwell for several weeks and is seeking medical attention.

Mr. Ibu explained that his doctors have advised that they may need to amputate his leg if other treatment options fail to yield positive results.

The post he shared on Instagram read,

He expressed his hope for prayers and assistance, as he is currently hospitalized. He said,

“While I am hoping for prayers and assistance, as I speak to you I am still lying down in the hospital. The medical director of this hospital said that in case his new idea does not work, the next idea is to cut off my leg. Just see me, if they cut off my leg where would I go? Pray for me, I don’t want my leg to be cut off, thank you so much, God, bless you.”

Both his wife and daughter joined him in the video, appealing to Nigerians for support and financial assistance. His daughter mentioned that she has been managing the medical bills throughout his illness and they are struggling to cover the costs.

Mr. Ibu’s daughter lamented,

This is not the first time Daddy has been down. He had been down, up, down, back on his feet again. So if he’s not getting better in one of the best private hospitals in Lagos, I think we need people who will come together and, if possible fly him abroad so that he can get better treatment. As a father, he has been fighting, trying to be strong. He wants to live.

Personally, I’m exhausted. This is the bill they just gave us from the hospital. I am financially drained. I can’t do it alone. I need help.”

They expressed their desire to transfer Mr. Ibu abroad for advanced medical treatment due to his worsening condition, emphasizing that this isn’t the first time he has faced such a health challenge.

Mr. Ibu has been a very good actor, loved by most Nigerians because of his humorous acts and parts in movies. This time of his illness is a time when most of his fans are showing him love and support.

Some of them already sent money to the account details provided on his Instagram post. Some others are pledging to do so.

These acts of support from his fans show that Mr. Ibu is not alone in this.
