Barcelona supporters can sigh with relief as their excellent midfielder, Pedri, seems to be healing more quickly than originally expected and could return in time for this month’s El Clasico matchup against Real Madrid. The reigning LaLiga champions, who have recently suffered difficulties both on and off the pitch, are given some much-needed optimism by this news.
It was previously anticipated that Pedri, who suffered an injury during Barcelona’s second LaLiga encounter against Cadiz, would miss a significant amount of time. Recent indications, however, indicate that the young Spanish midfielder might be prepared to play again sooner than anticipated.
With both Pedri and Frenkie de Jong initially scheduled to miss the potentially title-deciding encounter against Real Madrid, Barcelona found themselves in a bit of a crisis going into the key game. The crew is given some hope by the news of Pedri’s quick recovery, though.
The talented 20-year-old midfielder has been diligently working on his recovery and may be ready for a game as soon as October 22. If everything goes according to plan, he might even play against Athletic Club six days before to the much awaited El Clasico.
For Barcelona, who will also be without the services of striker Raphinha in the forthcoming match against Real Madrid, Pedri’s likely comeback is a huge relief. Barcelona is focused on retaining the top rank in LaLiga from their bitter competitors and is ready to defend the title they won the previous year. After an unbeaten start to the season, they currently have just one point between them and Real Madrid.
Barcelona has performed brilliantly despite Pedri’s injury absence, winning six of the seven games he has missed. However, the team would surely benefit from having their star player back in action for the El Clasico as they look to defeat their bitter rivals.
