Orlando Mass Shooting: Texter Confirmed Dead

The 12th of June 2016, during the wee hours of Sunday, recorded the worst mass shooting in the United States, and the deadliest attack against the gay community as 29-year old Omar Maateen, went on a shooting rampage at the popular gay club Pulse night club Orlando, Florida, killing 49 and injuring 53.

Omar Maateen, a husband and father of one, born in the US to Afghan parents is said to have strong anti-gay feelings which may have motivated him to carry out such senseless massacre.

Eddie Justice – Confirmed Dead

30-year old Eddie Justice in the heat and frenzy of the killings had run into the restroom to seek refuge and escape the enraged shooter. Whilst there he sent text messages to his mother, Mina Justice who by the time was fast asleep.

Eddie Justice’ Text Messages

At 2:06 he writes: “Mommy I love you”,
“In club they shooting”
At 2:07: “Pulse, Downtown, Call police”
“I am gonna die”
Mina proceeds to make frantic calls to the police as she tries to keep in touch with her son
At 2:49: “Hurry, he is in the bathroom”
Mina responds to his text asking him if the man was in the bathroom with him.
At 2:50 he responds: “he’s a terror” a minute later Mina got the last text from her son “Yes”.
Mr. Justice, whose last text to his mother was just before 3 a.m., did not survive.

His death was confirmed by the Orlando authorities early Monday morning.

The upcoming movie “Hijack 93: The Mad Men & The Aircraft” have commenced its principal photography.

The amazing news was shared by Charles Okpaleke the co-founder and CEO of Play Network Africa via Instagram along with some pictures from behind-the-scenes, and the upcoming project certainly looks promising.

The movie is based on a true-life story about some teenagers who hijacked a Nigerian airways plane headed to Abuja and diverted it to Niger due to the failed June 12th elections in 1993 which was an attempt to force the government to hand over power to MKO Abiola.

Some cast for the project have been confirmed Idia Aisien and Jemima Osunde. The movie is supported by British Film Institute (BFI) also in collaboration with Play Network Studios and Native Media. The director is Robert O. Peters with Rogers Ofime and Agozie Ugwu as producers.
