Tosin Igho, the film director, has announced his upcoming thriller movie titled ‘Suspicion’, which Amazon Prime will release on November 28, 2024.

Igho has established himself as a seasoned filmmaker in Nigeria’s film industry, having directed several successful movies including “Seven”,The Eve“, “Team Six“, “Dust”, and “Nneka the Pretty Serpent“.

The director and Nollywire collaboratively shared a post revealing the release of this new project. They described ‘Suspicion’ as “an action-packed thriller”.

They teased audiences with the announcement of the movie’s upcoming premiere on the streaming platform later this year. The director has positioned this new thriller as his latest addition to his growing portfolio of acclaimed films.

Omoni Oboli, the film director, has achieved a remarkable milestone with her latest movie “The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3“. The movie now dominates the West African box office with earnings of ₦28.2 million.

The film continues to shatter records in multiple categories. It has secured its position as the Nollywood film with the highest ticket pre-sales ever recorded. The crime thriller has also achieved the highest opening weekend numbers in its genre.

Additionally, it stands as the most successful October release in Nollywood’s history and has set a new opening weekend record for the entire “Wives on Strike” franchise.

Oboli has taken to social media to share her appreciation. The director composed a heartfelt message thanking her dedicated cast members for their outstanding performances.

She also acknowledged the tireless efforts of her crew members who worked behind the scenes. Furthermore, she expressed deep gratitude to the audience whose overwhelming support has contributed to the film’s unprecedented success.

Netflix Original series, ‘Blood Sisters’ Returns For A Second Season

Mo Abudu, the head of Ebonylife Group, has revealed exciting news for fans of the hit Netflix show, Blood Sisters.

In a recent post on her Instagram account, Abudu officially announced the series. The drama series will be returning for a second season.

“BLOOD SISTERS SEASON 2 IN THE WORKS. I’m thrilled to share that BLOOD SISTERS 2 is officially in motion, and we had the most amazing table read this past week! After 18 months of development with our talented writers #CraigFreimond, @Zeli_oz and @Adzeugah, the excitement is palpable! Nearly all your favourite characters are back,” the post said.

Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang directed the first season of Blood Sisters. However, Daniel Oriahi and Kayode Kasum take the helm for the upcoming second season.

The production team remains largely the same, with Inem King, Ted Abudu, Judith Audu, and James Amuta returning as producers.

Oriahi, known for his acclaimed psychological thriller, The Weekend, brings his expertise to the project.

Kasum, with a strong track record in films like Soole, Sugar Rush, and Áfàméfùnà: An Nwa Boi Story, adds another layer of talent to the directorial team.

South African filmmakers Craig Freimond, Zeli Zulu, and Adze Ugah pen the series. Meanwhile, the story follows Sarah and Kemi as they face new thrills.

Specifically, Kemi accidentally kills Sarah’s abusive fiancé, Kola, consequently forcing the two best friends to flee.

Additionally, Genoveva Umeh, Kate Henshaw, Kehinde Bankole, Uche Jombo, Etim Effiong, Segun Arinze, Patrick Doyle, Michelle Dede, Bolaji Ogunmola, Blessing Jessica Obasi, Mike Afolarin, and Fadekemi Olumide return to the cast.

“While it’s still a little while before BLOOD SISTERS 2 hits your screens, we are in pre-production and gearing up for filming in just a few weeks! Expect twists, turns, and edge-of-your-seat drama! Earlier this month, Nile launched a voucher system to allow cinema lovers to pre-order tickets before the premiere of The Uprising. This move helped build anticipation among fans eager to secure their seats ahead of showtime. As a result, the film’s initial sales surged quickly.

The Uprising is a satire that tells the story of a female local government official. She finds herself caught in a web of turmoil, juggling the challenges of her new authority with the complexities of her personal life. The film presents a powerful narrative, blending humor with important social commentary.

Adding to its appeal, Wives on Strike 3 features an impressive ensemble cast.

Leading the lineup are Chioma Akpotha, Uche Jombo, Omoni Oboli, and Ufuoma McDermott. These celebrated actresses bring depth and energy to their roles.

Hilda Dokubo also joins the cast, further boosting the film’s star power. Additionally, rising stars like Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as KieKie, and May Yul-Edochie deliver standout performances.
