The monetary incentives for the participating countries in the ongoing AFCON tournament have been announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The AFCON tournament is currently in the quarter-final stage, with countries like Angola, Nigeria, Cape Verde, the host, Cote d’Ivoire, and four other countries competing for the winning price.
The Confederation of African Football confirmed that the winning team of the AFCON 2024 tournament will be rewarded with $7 million for their victory.
According to the report filed by CAF, the runners-up will receive $4 million, while the two countries that were defeated in the round of the semi-finals will receive $2.5 million.
Further down the ranking, the four countries knocked out by their opponents in the quarterfinals will each receive $1.3 million. The eight teams eliminated in the round of 16 will each be granted $800,000.
Additionally, the two teams that emerged third in their respective groups but failed to advance to the next stage will receive $700,000. The six teams that emerged last in their groups will each be granted $500,000.

The AFCON 2024 Prize Money, as disclosed by CAF, is listed below:
- Winner: $7,000,000
- Runners-up: $4,000,000
- Semi-finalists (two teams): $2,500,000 x 2
- Quarter-finalists (four teams): $1,300,000 x 4
- Round of 16 (eight teams): $800,000 x 8
- The teams ranked 3rd in their group but fail to qualify for the round of 16 (2 teams): $700,000 x 2
- The teams ranked 4th in each of the six groups (six teams): $500 000 x 6
The quarter-final stage of the match commences today at the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, where Nigeria will be facing Angola for the grand prize.
