In December 2022, Inkblot Productions made history by obtaining the first-ever Nigerian licensing agreement with the international streaming service Prime Video. After Inkblot plays in theatres, Prime Video will have the only global rights to distribute the film according to the conditions of the deal. This historic agreement, which is in the middle of the year, is in line with the studio’s pledge to release seven to eight films a year as per the agreement with Prime Video officials.
In addition, there are hints that a few of the future films might debut directly on streaming services rather than having a conventional theatrical run. This strategic change highlights how the film distribution industry is changing and shows how Inkblot Productions is clearly adjusting to appeal to modern consumers.
The studio’s connection with Prime Video and the varied schedule of planned releases demonstrates its dedication to providing engaging and culturally relevant content to a worldwide audience, even as they continues to contribute to the vibrancy of Nigerian film.
