Uptown Disco video: Olamide Drops Music Video | fab.ng

Olamide has released a new music video for his popular song “Uptown Disco“, featuring Asake and Fireboy. These artists are known for their unique styles in the Nigerian music scene.

“Uptown Disco” is part of Olamide’s newest album called “Ikigai”. The word “Ikigai” comes from Japanese and means “reason for being” or “life’s purpose”.

On this album, Olamide sings with Fireboy and Asake on the third song, “Uptown Disco”. He also works with other artists he’s known before – Pheelz, Young Jonn, and Lil Kesh – on the seventh song, “Synchro System”.

The music video for “Uptown Disco” came out on August 14, 2024.

Jyde Ajala filmed the video in the United States. Ajala has made many famous music videos for Olamide, Asake, and Adekunle Gold. He is known for his creative and visually striking video concepts. This often enhances the storytelling aspect of the songs.

In the video, Fireboy is shown being chased by police. This storyline adds an element of excitement and drama to the video, keeping viewers engaged. The video also shows Olamide and Asake performing with colourful backgrounds, dancers, and models.

Olamide released “Ikigai” on June 10, 2024. It’s his 10th solo album, marking a significant milestone in his career. Many people like this album. Its main song “Metaverse” became one of the top 10 songs on the TurnTable Top 100 chart. Further, this achievement points out Olamide’s continued relevance and popularity in the Nigerian music industry.

This album was a surprise because Olamide had said he might stop making albums.

The fact that he decided to release “Ikigai” anyway shows that he still has more to say through his music. It’s one of the most listened-to albums of 2024 so far, with 7.92 million streams in its first week.

With this new music video, “Uptown Disco” is likely to become another hit song for Olamide. Indeed, a catchy tune, popular featured artists, and an engaging music video could help propel the song up the charts.

Olamide has been making popular music for over ten years. He is considered one of the best artists in Nigerian mainstream music history. His ability to consistently produce hit songs and collaborate with both established and up-and-coming artists has solidified his position as a leader in the Nigerian music industry.
