Valentine’s Day : Group raises HIV/AIDS awareness

Valentine’s day is a day to share gifts, and express love to someone special.
But an organization in Abuja is worried that sometimes the celebrations may go beyond being just intimate.

It is using the International Condom Day to help prevent the spread of HIV and Aids, by giving out free condoms and testing.

The Aids Healthcare Foundation projected the day in conjunction with Valentine’s day to promote the prevention of STDs, HIV and unwanted pregnancies.

The Director General of the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) also laid emphasis on the need to know one’s HIV status by getting tested at every given opportunity

Nigeria still has the second largest number of persons living with HIV and aids, with the major challenge in bringing the numbers down being, how to encourage the youth to get tested or use condoms when they have to.

The underlying advice still remains, know your status by getting tested, and stay safe by abstaining from indiscriminate activities or by simply using a condom.

Sheye Oladejo shared her inspiration for the Èjìré collection:

“The Èjìré collection is a tribute to the strength and resilience of African women. By fusing Aso-Oke and Adire, I wanted to create pieces that honor our heritage while allowing today’s woman to express herself boldly in a modern world.”

Oladejo demonstrates her unwavering commitment to craftsmanship through her meticulous work. Notably, she partnered with local artisans to create the Èjìré collection. This is where each artisan applied their generations-old expertise and precise attention to detail to craft every piece.

Through this collaboration, Oladejo successfully merged traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design elements.

Bobrisky Breaks Silence on Falz Defamation Claims | fab.ng

Following a 24-hour ultimatum to retract defamatory statements made against Nigerian singer Falz and his father in a viral voice note, crossdresser Bobrisky has issued a statement.

In an Instagram post on October 16, 2023, Bobrisky denied making any defamatory remarks about Falz or his father. He emphasized that he is awaiting an official response from his legal counsel before providing further details on the matter.

This statement comes in response to the serious allegations made against Bobrisky, which have sparked widespread public attention and concern.

He wrote,

“TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: In reply to the two letters in circulation from the Law Firm of the Falanas. I like to state for the records and pending the official reply from my counsel, state for the avoidance of doubt that I, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, aka Bobrisky, did not publish any defamatory statement or statements concerning the learnt SAN and his Son Falz.”

Bobrisky demands accountability from the publisher of defamatory statements against Falz and his father.

“It is in the public domain pursuant to my solicitor’s letter dated the 27th day of September 2024 that I have denied any knowledge of what VDM published. I stand by my express denial and put the matter to strict proof and advise that whoever has been defamed should hold the publisher of the defamatory content and my fundamental rights to privacy of my communications should be respected and protected.”

In another story post, Bobrisky emphasized that the responsibility lay with Verydarkman, not him.

“I OKUNEYE idris aka BOBRISKY didn’t give Falz or his dad any money for pardon. As a matter of fact no penny was given to them. Have said dis before and i will say it again. The person that published an Audio online should take fully responsible for what he posted in public. My lawyer will respond to any further information d public want to about dis ongoing issue trending on social media,” he wrote.

The controversy erupted when media personality Verydarkman released an alleged voice note from Bobrisky that quickly spread across the internet.

In this explosive recording, Bobrisky openly admitted that he had evaded prison time despite receiving a sentence for money laundering. Furthermore, the crossdresser boldly claimed that he had paid both Falz and his father to secure a pardon.

Subsequently, after the damaging voice note became public, Falz and his father’s law chambers took immediate action by issuing a stern 24-hour ultimatum to Verydarkman, demanding that he retract his statement.

However, Verydarkman remained defiant and refused to comply with their demands. As a result of his non-compliance, the legal battle intensified, leading to the court’s decisive action.

Finally, the court ruled against Verydarkman. They imposed a substantial fine of ₦500 million. Additionally, they ordered him to remove all defamatory posts related to the matter.

In the interview, Davido discussed the inspirations behind his unique style. He revealed that he is drawn to urban fashion but adapts his wardrobe to suit different events and occasions. This flexibility allows him to express his personal style while remaining versatile and relevant.

“They say I like to dress like a rapper because I love urban fashion. I love wearing T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers to look comfortable. You will find me in a suit when it’s time to collect money. Sometimes, I also wear Agbada,” Davido shared.

Davido, the renowned Nigerian singer, has named his fourth album, “Timeless,” as his personal favorite. Released in March 2023, “Timeless” broke numerous streaming records on platforms like Spotify, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube in Nigeria.
