Injustice: Police Arrests Nigerian Man After His Car Was Bashed By Some White Men [Photos/video]

A social media user has reported a case of injustice perpetrated by some Polish men resident in Nigeria without any sense of remorse or apology.

Reports trending on social media reveal a group of Europeans turned the table around against some Nigerians with the members of the Nigeria Police Force dancing to their tune.

According to the mind-boggling story, some purportedly erring white men from Poland easily secured a preferential treatment against some citizens of Abuja. The victims had their vehicle bashed yesterday by some foreigners who ended up framing them up.

Read the story as narrated by the sister of the victims:

“Yesterday my brothers and I went to Mami market, Abacha Barracks. While awaiting the gate opening, this Highlander jeep, number place umber 110 CD 06, overtakes us from behind and bashes our car.

Everyone in view saw this including the soldiers, they tried to flag them down but they zoomed off to everyone’s dismay. The soldiers were shouting that we should chase them. We caught up with them and blocked them with our car.

We found 4 Polish inside the Jeep. Even after we parked right in front of them, they still drove right into us, my brother had to open their car and put the car’s hand break on and remove the car key from the ignition to stop them.

Police gathered to ask what happened, we explained it all to them. The white man driving ran into us, intentionally, the second time, so that people would think we were trying to overtake wrongly.

They stepped out and the first thing they said was “we’re diplomats”.. At this point I’m beyond flabbergasted. They turned the whole thing around saying we bashed them.

My brother decided to go to the Barack and bring 2 army witnesses. We insisted that damages be paid for since ‘sorry’ wasn’t forthcoming from them. You will not believe that the police let these white men go.

And took us to the police station for statement, just because they were white and claimed to be diplomats. As I speak now, my brother is being held at Asokoro police station, the DPO of the station now claims we were trying to kidnap the white men.

He has been detained even though the soldiers came in as witness, two lawyers are on standby, yet the DPO is adamant. This is a clear case of man know man or highest bidder wins.

I have lived abroad and there is nowhere hit and run cases aren’t charged, this cannot happen in Poland, they wouldn’t even try it, but Nigeria is a lawless and the police are ever ready to participate and cooperate with them. .

Nigerian police would see the truth and rather be bribed by white men. They’re chilling at their embassy while my brother is being detained by the police.”

The Nigerian Official Selection Committee has selected the epic Hausa film, Mai Martaba as its contender for the International Feature Film (IFF) category at the 97th Academy Awards. The Committee announced in an official statement that they selected the film to contend for the Oscars because of its theme and visual appeal.

“The Nigerian Official Section Committee (NOSC) selected the film for its relevant theme of diverse voices in decision-making and inclusive leadership and its visual and technical appeal,” the post said.

Acclaimed director Prince Daniel produced and directed the epic Hausa film “Mai Martaba.”

The Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) has selected as its contender for the International Feature Film (IFF) category at the 97th Academy Awards. The NOSC announced this decision in an official statement, praising the film’s powerful themes and visually captivating qualities.

“Mai Martaba” explores the complexities of power, love, greed, and betrayal within the context of an ancient African kingdom. The film presents a transformative tale that challenges conventions and celebrates female leadership. Notably, it offers a fresh perspective on the region’s rich cultural heritage.

The NOSC’s voting members are an impressive roster of industry luminaries. They include award-winning filmmaker and NOSC Chairperson Stephanie Linus. Victor Okhai, the President of the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN), is also a member. Veteran actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is on the committee. Former DGN President Andy Amenechi is a member. Yibo Koko, a theatre practitioner, is on the committee. Writer/director Izu Ojukwu and prolific film producer Emem Isong are also members.

Additional members include Ali Nuhu, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC). Kene Okwuosa, the Co-Founder and Group CEO of Filmhouse Cinemas, is a member. Director Dimeji Ajibola is on the committee. Writer/director Jude Idada is a member. Director John Njamah is on the committee. Actress/polyglot Meg Otanwa is a member. Producer/director Blessing Effiom Egbe is on the committee. Actress Ijeoma Grace Agu is a member. Journalist/film critic Victor Akande is on the committee.

“Mai Martaba” was filmed in Daura, Katsina State, Nigeria.

The film tells the story of an ancient kingdom that experienced a trade boom through the Trans-Saharan trade exchange, but then faced a fierce internal power struggle among the powerful Agadashawa ruling clan, leading to its downfall.

The film was released theatrically in Nigeria and also selected for the prestigious Septimius Awards in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The NOSC’s 15-member committee unanimously voted “Mai Martaba” as their top choice to represent Nigeria in the IFF category at the 97th Oscars.

The IFF Executive Committee will now determine the next stage for the film’s journey to the prestigious awards ceremony, which will be held on March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles, and broadcast live to over 200 territories worldwide.
