Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has excitingly announced that her fibroids are shrinking. She shared this positive news on her TikTok account on October 6, 2024. Ini Dima-Okojie revealed that a recent ultrasound scan showed a noticeable reduction in the size of her fibroids compared to the last time she underwent the examination.

The actress had previously embarked on a holistic journey to shrink her fibroids, which unfortunately returned. As part of this journey, she eliminated bread, meat, milk, and other foods from her diet while also taking supplements. It appears that this approach is yielding positive results.

She said,

“I made some lifestyle changes since I found out that the fibroids are back. So I went to the hospital recently to do an ultrasound scan and the fibroids are shrinking, so we’re doing something right; something is working.”

Recall that in July 2024, Okojie initially disclosed that her fibroids had returned, three years after undergoing invasive surgery to remove them. In the video she shared at the time, she communicated with her followers and fans. She provided updates on the challenges she encountered and her future plans.

She explained,

“I want to share something important with you today. If you’ve been following me, you would probably know that before the end of 2020, I had a myomectomy, which is an evasive surgery to take out fibroids. The surgery was successful; my doctor removed every single fibroid and I healed well. It’s been 3 years since the surgery and unfortunately, the fibroids are back.”

Following the initial disclosure, the actress consistently kept her fans and followers informed about her holistic approach to shrinking the fibroids. She had no intention of undergoing another surgical procedure. Subsequently, she revealed that she had eliminated bread, meat, and other foods from her diet. THis was in an effort to reduce the size of her fibroids.

“Dairy, so cheese, milk, refined sugar like cookies, cakes, condiments and processed food in general. Also, carbonated drinks and caffeine. Honorary mention, sodium and anything high in salt. So I am avoiding these things because they are high in estrogen and these things can make the fibroids grow,” said Okojie.

The movie is about a group of women who refuse to have sex with their husbands until the husbands help a young girl whose father forced her to marry an older man. This is also a protest against violence against women in the community.

The movie is funny but also starts a serious discussion about important issues women face. It will be in theaters on October 18, 2024. The movie stars Chioma Akpotha, Uche Jombo, Omoni Oboli, Ufuoma McDermott, Hilda Dokubo, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (KieKie), and May Yul-Edochie.
