SKY Girls, a community of teen girls in Nigeria dedicated to self-expression and authenticity, has launched a new Teen TV series called “Journey to Bloom“. This is in collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
This series is designed for girls between the ages of 13 and 19. Also, it appeals to boys, young adults, and parents, and will air on Africa Magic Family every Saturday at 6:30 PM.
Supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, “Journey to Bloom” integrates crucial messaging on financial inclusion, behavioural change goals, and sexual and reproductive health. The series explores the lives of several young adults.
This includes Tife, who explores financial inclusion among teenage girls; Naima and Ajibola, who explore sexual and reproductive health. Other characters, such as Yomi, Chinedu, and Ajibola, delve into rich themes throughout the story.
“Journey to Bloom” will address common issues teen girls face.
These problems are such as peer pressure, financial struggles, and the journey to self-discovery. The series provides viewers with relatable scenarios and practical solutions to real-life challenges, making it both entertaining and educational.
Adenike Odutola, Country Director of SKY Girls Nigeria, explained the motivation behind “Journey to Bloom.” She emphasises the importance of providing teen girls with empowering content that addresses their unique needs and challenges.
