Seyi Vibez and Dapper: Have they parted ways? | fab.ng

Nigerian star Seyi Vibez recently sparked reactions on social media by declaring himself an “Individual artist” and also unfollowing his label boss, Dapper. This bold move led many fans to speculate that the two-year partnership between the artist and Dapper Music & Entertainment may have come to a contentious end.

Both Seyi Vibez and Dapperdamm unfollowed each other on their social media accounts. Further, this fueled rumours of a split. Additionally, Seyi Vibez wiped his Instagram of all posts related to his music under the label.

The timing of this development coincided with a controversy that had already placed Seyi Vibez under public scrutiny. Just days before the social media drama unfolded, the artist faced massive backlash. This was from Nigerians in Toronto, Canada, for abruptly cancelling a scheduled show without prior notice. The incident drew widespread criticism, adding to the mounting tension surrounding the artist.

As of now, neither Seyi Vibez nor Dapperdamm has officially addressed the alleged separation. Indeed this has left fans in suspense about the future of their partnership. However, a source from Dapper Music disclosed to PM News that the label is awaiting Seyi Vibez’s return to Nigeria to resolve the ongoing issues. The source added that the next steps would be determined following his arrival.

Seyi Vibez signed with Dapper Music in 2022 and has since risen to fame. This is largely due to the success of his breakout single, “Chance (Na Ham),” from his second studio album, “Billion Dollar Baby”. His time with the label has been marked by collaborations with several notable artists.

Qing Madi, the rising star from Mavin Records, has unveiled the music video for her latest single, “Sins For U.” This track is a cornerstone of the deluxe edition of her self-titled debut EP, “Qing Madi.” The EP expands on her original release with fresh content.

The deluxe EP introduces two new tracks to Qing Madi’s growing discography. “YBIL (You Believe in Love)” features a collaboration with the Nigerian artist Kizz Daniel. It blends their distinctive styles. Additionally, “Sins For U” shows Qing Madi’s solo talents. The artist also includes a remixed version of her track “Vision,” now featuring the powerful vocals of American R&B sensation Chlöe Bailey.

“Sins For U” is a deep dive into the emotional landscape of a relationship under strain. Qing Madi crafts a narrative centred on a protagonist grappling with the consequences of fame and success in their personal life. The song’s lyrics paint a vivid picture of an individual torn between their burgeoning career and their romantic commitments.

Through her emotive vocals, Qing Madi conveys the protagonist’s profound sense of remorse. The character acknowledges their emotional unavailability. Also recognizing how their pursuit of stardom and the demands of their lifestyle have created a chasm in their relationship. The artist skillfully portrays the inner conflict of someone who has achieved their dreams but at a significant personal cost.

The music video for “Sins For U” visually enhances the song’s themes.

The “Sins For U” music video compares scenes of glamour and success with moments of solitude and reflection, mirroring the lyrical content. This visual narrative adds another layer to Qing Madi’s exploration of the price of fame and the sacrifices it often demands.

By tackling these complex emotions in “Sins For U,” Qing Madi demonstrates her growth as an artist and songwriter. She shows a willingness to confront difficult subjects. This authenticity and vulnerability in her music continue to set Qing Madi apart in the competitive landscape of Nigerian and global pop music.
