The song has been certified platinum in France by SNEP, the country’s official certification body. This certification was awarded after ‘Soso’ surpassed 30 million streams in France.

‘Soso’ was released as part of Omah Lay’s debut album ‘Boy Alone’. The single has been very successful, charting in multiple countries. It has achieved impressive digital success with 186 million streams on Spotify and 142 million views on YouTube.

Omah Lay later released a remix of ‘Soso’ featuring Ozuna. This remix was included in the deluxe version of his debut album. The remix has also been successful, gaining over 20 million streams on Spotify.

Tempoe produced ‘Soso’. Omah Lay’s most commercially successful record to date is ‘Soso’. The song adds to his collection of hit singles, which includes ‘Damn,’ ‘Understand,’ ‘Reason,’ and ‘Godly’. ‘Godly’ holds the record as one of the longest-running No. 1 songs on the TurnTable Top 100 chart, staying at the top for 11 weeks.

The platinum certification of ‘Soso’ in France adds it to the growing list of Afrobeats records that have received SNEP platinum certification. This achievement reflects the increasing popularity of Afrobeats in France.

Other Afrobeats songs have also been certified diamond in France. These include Burna Boy’s ‘On The Low’ and ‘Last Last’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa’, CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’, and Rema’s ‘Calm Down’. These certifications further demonstrate the growing global appeal of Afrobeats music.
