It will be taking place in Los Angeles from July 8th to August 8th, 2024.

This residency program is a powerful symbol of collaboration, spearheaded by ACTV and partnering with the esteemed University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. The initiative itself stems from a commitment made by US President Joe Biden during the 2022 Africa Leaders Summit.

At its core, the 2024 Africa Creative TV Residency aims to bridge the gap between African and American television professionals. This will foster a valuable exchange of knowledge and mentorship.

The residency curriculum promises to be enriching, providing participants with targeted sessions on professional development and industry networking. This will equip them with the tools and connections needed to navigate the ever-evolving television landscape.

Netflix has revealed the premiere date for its latest feature film, “Tòkunbọ̀” which Ramsey Nouah directed. Chris Odeh produced the film. Scheduled to debut on Friday, August 23, 2024, this thrilling film portrays Nigeria’s gripping underworld of crime.

“Tòkunbọ̀” is Ramsey Nouah’s third venture as a director.

The film centres around a smuggler who is thrust into a high-stakes mission. With only three hours to deliver a government official’s daughter to her captor, the smuggler faces severe consequences if he fails. These consequences could endanger not only his life but also the lives of his family. This intense narrative sheds light on the desperation that drives individuals in Nigeria’s shadowy world of crime.

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Gideon Okeke, Chidi Mokeme, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Nobert Young, Majid Michael, Adunni Ade, Ivie Okujaye, Tosin Adeyemi, Stanley ‘Funnybone’ Chibunna, Darasimi Nadi, and Aaron Sunday. Their performances will bring the gripping story to life. Still, it promises viewers a cinematic experience filled with suspense and emotional depth.

Ramsey Nouah, a renowned Nigerian actor and director, has built a remarkable career in the film industry.

He gained widespread recognition in 2010. This was when he won the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work in “The Figurine“.

Continuing his directorial journey, Nouah helmed “Rattle Snake: The Ahanna Story”. Again, the movie is a remake of the 1995 classic “Rattlesnake”, also produced by Odeh.

Nouah’s entry into the world of film began in the early 1990s with his role in the soap opera “Fortunes”. Since then, he has appeared in numerous films, including “End of the Wicked“, “Battle of Love“, “Power of Love“, “Blood Sisters”, and “Merry Men”.
