Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa wasn’t shy about sharing her disapproval on social media. On Monday, March 25th, 2024, she took to her Instagram account to express her outrage over the results of the ‘best-dressed’ category at the “Beast of Two Worlds” movie premiere the prior day. It seems the choice of winner left Amusa feeling quite upset.

“Naturally, I don’t do this but I felt the need to do this,” she said. “I am not happy because I went to a colleague’s premiere yesterday and then they said that the best dressed was to be picked. One female best dresser and one male best dresser. Don’t get me wrong it could be anyone yes but definitely not a cross-dresser,” she said.
Dayo Amusa’s outrage stemmed from the winner of the “best-dressed woman” category at the movie premiere. Bobrisky, a well-known transgender personality, took home the award for their appearance, which included a long sequined gown and matching black lipstick.
In the “best-dressed man” category, Big Brother Naija alum Groovy was the winner. Both winners received a cash prize of ₦1 million. Amusa, clearly bewildered by the judges’ decision, took to social media to express her belief that it disrespected all the women who attended the event.
“What is wrong with us? When did we become this? I don’t understand how the judges disrespected every woman who made an effort to be at that event. Even if it’s 5 kobo an individual used to put their looks together, why is it that when it was time to pick the best-dressed female, you watered down the efforts of all the individuals at that event by giving it to a cross-dresser? What is wrong with us? I don’t understand it,” she continued.
Dayo Amusa and her frustration didn’t stop with just a social media post. She revealed on Instagram that she was so upset by Bobrisky. As he was named the “best-dressed woman,” she decided to leave the movie premiere altogether. This dramatic exit highlights the intensity of her feelings about the outcome.
“If you feel like the crossdresser has merited an award, create a category for them and give them their own. Not that you would disrespect every man and woman who came to that event by giving the best-dressed female to a crossdresser. Are the judges okay?? I had to walk out of that event,” she sneered.
Despite Amusa’s strong criticism, Bobrisky responded to her post with a message of affection, saying, “I love you regardless.”
