Kayode Kasum directed the feature drama “One Too Many,” which will be available for streaming on Netflix starting February 23, 2024.
The story, written by Ginika Ozioko and Jeanine Okafor, revolves around Adesuwa and her family’s unfortunate encounters with uniformed men. Adesuwa’s son is wrongly accused of murdering his best friend, leading her to fight for justice.
The cast includes Dakore Egbuson, Chimezie Imo, Omowunmi Dada, Rachel Oniga, Jide Kosoko, Paul Utomi, Kelechi Udegbe, Adeolu Funsho, Temilolu Fosudo, Rhoda Albert, Tope Tedela, and Ikponmwosa Gold.
Produced by Atinuke Akinde and Joy Grant-Ekang of Hope Pictures, the movie was shot in Ibadan, with some scenes filmed at the University of Ibadan. Principal photography concluded in 2021, with Adeoluwa Owu as the cinematographer.

Akinde describes “One Too Many” as an emotional journey of a person facing challenges with Nigerian law. The film, screened at the 2022 African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), explores the uncertainty of daily life and the possibility of ending up on the wrong side of the law. The first official poster for “One Too Many” has been released, inviting viewers to join the emotional journey.
