Netflix has revealed the official trailer for Kunle Afolayan‘s much-anticipated “Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre,” a spinoff derived from the highly successful movie “Anikulapo.”.

Released on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the video provides a tantalising glimpse into the upcoming epic series. Building on the narrative left off by the movie, the series goes deep into the continued journey of Saro and his wife.

The hard-to-understand Akala, the bird credited with resurrecting Saro (played by Kunle Remi) in the initial instalment, makes a return, but this time around, its demeanour is far from amiable.

“Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre,” unfolding across four compelling parts, promises to explore the complex themes of betrayal, revenge, and the relentless pursuit of ultimate power.

Under the adept direction of Afolayan, the stellar cast features Adebayo Salami, Layi Wasabi, Moji Afolayan, Aisha Lawal, Ronke Oshodi, Jide Kosoko, Adeniyi Johnson, and Funky Mallam.
