The Nollywood movie “A Tribe Called Judah” is set to be screened in nine French-speaking countries this weekend. The announcement was made by Film One Entertainment, the designated distributor of the movie in Nigeria, on Instagram on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. The movie will be shown in a total of 13 regions across these nine countries.
Some of the regions include Bessengue and Yaounde in Cameroon, Godope and Mide in Togo, Idrissa Quedraogo and Yennega in Burkina Faso, M’Pita and Poto Poto in Congo, Rebero in Rwanda, Teranga in Senegal, Tombolia in Conakry, Wologuede in Benin, and Mandjiozangue in Gabon.
The responsibility of handling this distribution, which begins on Friday, January 19, 2024, rests with Canal Olympia Showtimes Cinemas.

The movie, produced by renowned filmmaker Funke Akindele, initially premiered in Nigeria in December and subsequently expanded its reach to Ghana and the United Kingdom. This brings the total number of countries where the movie has been screened to 12.
According to the Cinemas Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), the local box office earnings for “A Tribe Called Judah” have reached a remarkable ₦1,296,686,092 as of January 14, 2024, solidifying its position as the highest-grossing Nigerian movie till date.
The storyline of the movie revolves around five brothers—Emeka Judah played by Jide Kene Achufusi, Pere Judah played by Timini Egbuson, Adamu Judah played by Uzee Usman, Shina Judah played by Tobi Makinde, and Ejiro Judah played by Olumide Oworu—who unite in an attempt to rob a company to save their mother, Jedidah Judah, played by Akindele.

Co-directed by Adeoluwa Owu, the film also features Ebele Okaro, Uzor Arukwe, Nse Ikpe Etim, Genoveva Umeh, Faithia Williams, Nosa Rex, Greg Ojefua, Ibrahim Yekini, Boma Akpore, Paschaline Ijeoma Alex, Etinosa Idemudia, Juliana Olayode, and Yvonne Jegede.
Currently, “A Tribe Called Judah” continues to be screened in cinemas throughout Nigeria.
