10 Dress Styles To Hide A Belly Bulge

Published

10 Dress Styles To Hide A Belly Bulge | Fab.ng

Belly bulge is a common issue, especially for women who want to remain in shape, and it affects a lot of women. Causes include stress, a sluggish metabolism, a lack of exercise, hormones, and a preference for certain foods.

You, as a woman or a young lady, may have tried all that you could to prevent belly bulge through dieting but failed. And traditional methods may have also failed you. Now is the time for a fashion reboot.

Here are 10 ways to combat the belly bulge and achieve a healthier appearance:

1. Shift the show to your legs

Shift dresses in straight and A-line designs, invented in the 1960s and popularised by everyone, are a timeless and elegant remedy to belly fat. The overall silhouette is always crisp and roomy and stands apart from the body, so there is no cling in the centre.

You can pick from sleeveless, short, elbow, three-quarter, and long sleeves. The only catch? Your legs are the new focal point. Choose a shift dress in a suitable length (above the knee, at the knee, or just covering the knee), avoid shapewear, and pair it with low, stylish shoes or flats.

2. Dress in one colour

This optical trick hides even the most noticeable tummy and works whether you’re a size 12 or 20, M, XL, or 2X. Here’s why, once again: matching or almost matching tops and bottoms results in a column of colour that appears visually as a single sleek, unbroken line.

Try this with all black or all white, two popular wardrobe neutrals, since it works for any colour. Ignore variances in fabric and texture. Mix fitted items with soft, sporty, or athleisure pieces, as well as finer pieces reserved for nighttime, for a more versatile look. Black joggers with a black silk shirt? Why not?

3. Lose your belly in midis and maxis

Long, flowy skirts could be your belly’s new best friend. The entire aim here is total camouflage with a strong twist, and it’s ideal for individuals with a fashionista mindset.

Ignore belted variants and go for looser styles with a horizontal seam above (as in Empire) or just below the waist. No worries, this is a design feature that is not intended to reveal your true waist, and it is not a shapeless baggy either.

Choose fashionable elements in colour, design, and sleeves to give these outfits a purposeful “look” rather than an excuse. “Never complain or explain” is an excellent fashion mantra.

4. Trim your torso with an open jacket

There are a few jacket methods for belly bulge. Here’s the first: Sure, it’s an illusion, but framing your belly with a contrasting colour jacket worn open over any shirt, tee, or dress, like theatre curtains, reduces the breadth of your body exactly at the waistline from the front.

Choose a jacket that you can wear indoors. A slim, structured jacket, such as a blazer, creates the sharpest line, although a cardigan, vest, or shirt jacket will produce similar results.

5. Hide your belly with a closed double-breasted jacket

No matter how relaxed your lifestyle is, don’t underestimate the importance of having one of them. When worn closed, the double layer and structured design conceal not just a bulging or bloated stomach but also its frequent companion, muffin tops.

While DBs, as they are known, are frequently worn with pantsuits, they are now more helpful as solo pieces that function for him or her. Look for consignment or resale options for your old pantsuits before shopping at fast-fashion boutiques.

6. Untuck your tops

While this works for women, (we untuck more than tuck these days), here’s a reminder for men with guts as well. Choose untucked tees and polos that are long enough to cover your entire body and will not ride up or expose your flesh when you sit, stretch, or bend.

The degree of roundness in the front and centre will influence the fit. Button-down collared shirts designed to be worn tucked or untucked typically have a flat or slightly curved bottom and look better as “outies” than old formal shirts with long tails that are excessively long at the thigh. Just make sure the shirt has a loose fit so the buttons do not pull or gape.

7. Go big on top, narrow on bottom

If you enjoy the idea of belly camouflage but also want to show off your figure, let opposites attract. Pair a full-cut top, shirt, blazer, or tunic with a narrow base of trim slacks, leggings, or straight or skinny jeans (even if you no longer wear them).

Consider the later group to be a pedestal for the main event, and employ this combination both day and night.

8. Make a big statement somewhere else

One of the simplest methods to deal with unwanted attention is to shift it to another location. It is frequently the reason we cut fringe, wear red lipstick, or wear striking eyeglasses, so you understand how this works.

Choose a dress or jacket with a striking neckline, billowy sleeves, or ruffles in a vibrant colour to conceal your belly.

9. Try a black jumpsuit

This initially stylish garment is turning out to be a must-have for women with stomach troubles. They’re essentially long-legged rompers that slide straight past your midsection.

Some jumpsuits come with a belt; if yours does, tie it loosely in the back. Though available in a variety of colours, designs, and fabrics, choose solid black for its ability to conceal bumps and bulges in unpleasant areas.

10. Own it

Wear all of your curves with confidence. After all, having voluptuous contours includes more than simply your belly. This does not need to be a problem. Body positivity can help you say, “I don’t mind being curvy!”

Nigerians Who Attended The 2024 Met Gala

Nigerians Who Attended The 2024 Met Gala | Fab.ng

Are you aware of the Nigerians who attended the big Met Gala event this year (2024)? The Met Gala is a fancy party once a year where celebrities dress up in amazing costumes. They do it to raise money for a famous art museum in New York City called the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year, the party had a special theme: “Sleeping Beauties: The Garden of Time.” That theme is based on a story written in 1962 by J.G. Ballard. The story is about how rich and powerful people can’t avoid death, no matter how much money they have or how beautiful they are.

Top 5 Most Expensive Shoes In The World

Top 5 Most Expensive Shoes In The World | Fab.ng

In the past, people wore shoes only to protect their feet. Today, however, shoes can be very expensive and fashionable. Some famous designers make shoes from expensive fancy materials, like silk or even jewels! These shoes can cost millions of dollars.

Other expensive shoes might not be made from the most luxurious materials, but they are still very costly because they’re a popular brand or have a unique design.

Here are the top five most expensive shoes in the world:

An Italian designer named Antonio Vietri created a very special pair of shoes called the Moonstar Shoes. These shoes are incredibly expensive, costing a whopping $20 million! Imagine that!

They are high heels made entirely of solid gold, not just any regular heels, though. They also sparkle with 30 beautiful diamonds and have a small piece of a real meteorite from way back in 1576.

The shoes were first shown off at a fancy fashion event in Dubai called MIDE Fashion Week. Believe it or not, they were even delivered by helicopters.

Jada Dubai, a designer known for luxurious shoes, teamed up with Passion Jewellers to create something truly amazing: the Passion Diamond Shoes. These weren’t your everyday shoes.

Made with a combination of shiny gold, soft leather, and elegant silk, they took a whole nine months to craft by hand. But the wait was worth it! Each shoe sparkled with 236 diamonds. One of them even had a giant, super-clear 15-carat diamond near the toes.

Just like something out of a movie, these precious shoes were delivered in style—by helicopters!

Imagine getting a super expensive pair of shoes as a birthday gift. That’s what happened to one lucky person who received a creation by British designer Debbie Wingham. These shoes are actually the world’s third-most expensive pair of footwear.

They were custom-made for this special occasion, using precious stones that the client already owned. It took over 100 hours to carefully craft the shoes by hand.

The design is truly stunning; the base is made of platinum and features a gold plaque. The most eye-catching part is the front, which sparkles with beautiful diamonds. There are three large pink diamonds, each weighing 3 carats, and one blue diamond for contrast. Even the stitching is luxurious—made with threads of 18-carat gold! The finishing touch? The leather parts are painted with 24-carat gold paint, making these shoes shine from every angle.

On December 14, 2008, Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi threw his shoes at US former President George W. Bush. The shoes were later bought for $10 million, and a massive order of nearly 300,000 pairs of similar shoes was placed in a week.

The shoes were thrown at him, probably because many people blamed him for the war and destruction in Iraq.

To celebrate a special occasion, the famous jewellery company Harry Winston decided to create a special pair of shoes. Dorothy’s ruby slippers from the beloved movie “The Wizard of Oz” inspired the creation.

Instead of using sequins like the movie shoes, Harry Winston’s version sparkled with gemstones! They used a whopping 4,600 rubies, which together weighed 1,350 carats. That’s a lot of rubies! They even added 50 carats of diamonds for extra shine.

It took two whole months to carefully craft these amazing shoes. Because of all the gemstones and the time it took to make them, the shoes cost a staggering $3 million. This makes them the fifth-most expensive pair of shoes in the world.
