Nigerian filmmaker Funke Akindele shared the milestone on her Instagram, expressing gratitude to her dedicated fan base and the broader community of Nigerian film enthusiasts who have consistently supported her projects since her breakthrough role in the Jenifa movie franchise.
Since its nationwide release on December 15, 2023, “A Tribe Called Judah” has continuously set records. Its opening weekend alone saw it earn ₦113 million, marking the highest opening weekend gross in Nollywood history. As of now, it holds the title of the highest-grossing movie for the entire year of 2023.

In addition to Akindele’s success, another noteworthy film is “Ada Omo Daddy” by Nigerian actress Mercy Aigbe. Released on the same day as “A Tribe Called Judah,” it has accumulated a gross of ₦104 million. Aigbe expressed her gratitude on Instagram to her fans and the nation as a whole.
