An incredible return for fans who have been waiting a long time for the much-anticipated original telenovela “Wura”, Showmax has announced that it will be returning for a second season.
The show promises a gripping second season full of more drama, suspense, and scandalous scenes that kept fans on the edge of their seats after a first season that captivated a sizable audience.
The show, which is based on the critically acclaimed South African soap “The River” explores the lives of people whose paths cross and intersect as a result of the finding of gold in Iperindo, a small town in Osun state, Nigeria. The mysterious Wura-Amoo Adeleke portrays two distinct personas—a loving wife and mother on the one hand and a strong CEO of Frontline Gold Mine on the other.
Executive producer Rogers Ofime said that the next season will feature a compelling story with difficult choices, character development, and a dynamic environment. Producing a show that will enthral viewers as much as it did in its first season is a labour of love for the production crew.
