Originating as a traditional record label, DeepWell Entertainment is a multifaceted entertainment brand that is making waves with its rebranded focus on promoting up-and-coming talents in the southeast region of Nigeria. With an incredible prize pool of 31 million Naira, the brand is poised to host the second edition of its much-awaited rap battle competition, “JudgmentDay: EaSt SiDe Rap Battle” offering aspiring rap artists a life-changing opportunity.
The three exciting phases of the event are the Live Rap Battle Face-off, the Audition, and Entry. On September 30, 2023, the entry phase opened, drawing 85 would-be rappers. Of these, 33 were chosen to move on to the auditions.
The 33 candidates went through a rigorous evaluation process during the October 22, 2023, auditions, with 10 exceptional performers receiving the coveted opportunity to progress to the final stage, “JudgmentDay”. The Main Rap Battle, which is slated for November 2023, will be the event’s pinnacle. In it, the top competitors will square off for the title and a grand prize of N1 million in cash.

In addition to generous financial rewards, DeepWell Entertainment is giving the top 4 artists an incredible N31 million in artist production packages and a free year of lodging at the DeepWell Entertainment House. The goal of this all-inclusive support is to give the winners the resources they need to advance their musical careers.
The project’s creator, Oodera, highlights the legitimacy of the judging procedure by saying, “A panel of esteemed judges, consisting of industry professionals, will assess the performances and choose the champions.” The DeepWell Rap Battle not only serves as a platform for new rap artists to showcase their skills but also stands as a cultural icon fostering creative lyrics and artistic ideas.
