Due to injuries sustained while playing for the Gunners, two Arsenal players have been forced to cancel their future international commitments with their respective national teams. Bukayo Saka, a winger, and William Saliba, a defender, will not play for England or France on the international stage, respectively, since they have chosen to put their health first during the impending break.
Saka missed Arsenal’s incredible victory over Manchester City due to a muscle injury that he has been battling. Saliba, who participated in the match against Manchester City, hurt his toe during the contest and was therefore unable to join the French national team.

Following the end of the international break, both players will engage in physical therapy to get back in playing shape to help Arsenal. Saka will not be playing in any of England’s games against Australia or Italy, which are both qualifiers for the 2024 European Championships. Saliba will also be absent from France’s games against Scotland and the Netherlands.

The precise date of their return to the field is still unknown. Saka’s injury against Tottenham suggests that his situation is worse because he has been unable to train with Arsenal since. As a result of Saliba’s withdrawal, the French team will be led by Jean Claude Todibo, a transfer target for Manchester United. The England team has yet to select who will take Saka’s spot, though.
These incidents remind football clubs of difficulties during international breaks since they have to deal with the possibility of their players getting hurt while playing for their national teams.
