Nigerian Afrobeats artist, Lojay has been included in Apple Music’s Home Session series, where he graces the site with his own stripped-down performances of some of his famous hits. In this exclusive session, Lojay performs his music in a rare and private setting, giving listeners a closer connection to his craft.
Three rare, unplugged recordings from Lojay are included on the Home Session EP, which is streamable on Apple Music in Spatial Audio. These songs are “Monalisa,” “IYD,” and a version of Libianca’s popular song “People.” This EP presents Lojay’s music to listeners in a fresh and innovative way, emphasising the unadulterated brilliance and emotional depth of his songs.
Reflecting on his artistic career, Lojay says that after being well-known thanks to his debut EP, “LV N ATTN,” he has continued to develop and improve. He declares his dedication to continuous progress in his singing, songwriting, and vocal delivery, with the goal of constantly honing his skill.
Lojay explains that when it came to choosing songs for his sophomore EP, he chose tunes that were appropriate for acoustic concerts. In order to give songs like “Monalisa” and “If You Down,” which have a special place in his heart, fresh life and energy, he sought to capture the spirit of his music in an acoustic environment.
In addition, Lojay made the decision to cover Libianca’s global hit song “People” in honour of her. Libianca is praised by him as a superb musician with a wonderful voice and songwriting abilities. He chose to perform ‘People’ as part of his acoustic set because it spoke to him personally.
