Yul Edochie detailed his final moments with his son in a lengthy post on his Instagram account. He disclosed that his son visited him in his room on the day of his death while ready for school to inform him of an approaching interhouse sporting event that he had promised to attend.
They both laughed as they discussed his son’s height and his delight for winning a gold medal in swimming. Yul Edochie’s kid unfortunately never came back, and he has learned to realise that he cannot dispute God’s will. He wrote:
“On that Wednesday morning, you entered my room dressed for school. You informed me that your school will hold inter-house athletics on Friday, and I assured you that I will be there. You were all fired up. You informed me that you had won a swimming gold medal. I wished you well. We made fun of your height before you cheerfully departed for school. And you didn’t return home ever again. I am unable to query God. Only 16 years with us on earth, my beloved son, yet you left your imprint. Excellent son. Calm, adorable, smart, always upbeat, exceptional football player, kind and loving spirit. You are a saint. You are missed. You are loved, Kambi. Papa adores you. However, God values you more. Good night, son. Till we meet again. Rest in Heaven with God. My dear son, Kambi Yul-Edochie. Kambi yooooooo!”
After having a seizure while playing football with his peers at school on March 30, 2023, Kambili passed suddenly.
His sixteenth birthday had recently passed.
