Three goals scored by the Nigerian Flying Eagles made it into the top ten goals of the U-20 AFCON tournament 2023 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles Wins Fair Play Award

The third goal made by Jude Sunday in the match against Tunisia in the third place match was picked, as the winger dribbled Tunisian defenders before taking the shot.

The superb strike made by Ibrahim Muhammed outside the box was also selected. Solomon Agbalaka’s powerful header against their host Egypt was also selected as top ten goals.

The players were awarded the fair play trophy.

Sofyan Amrabat, the midfielder for Fiorentina and the Moroccan national team, received significant interest from Manchester United, Barcelona, and Chelsea during the January transfer window, according to his brother Nordin.

The 26-year-old caught the attention of these top European clubs after his impressive performances for Morocco during the 2022 World Cup, where they became the first African team to reach the semi-finals. However, despite the offers made by these clubs, Fiorentina refused to let Amrabat leave.

Nordin Amrabat revealed that Manchester United arrived with an offer in the final two days of the transfer window, but it was a loan with an option to buy, which Fiorentina declined. Barcelona was also interested in the midfielder, but their financial problems prevented them from making an obligation to buy. The third club interested in Amrabat was Chelsea. Although Barcelona was prepared to pay a significant amount for the midfielder, Fiorentina was not willing to let go of one of their most important players.
