Rihanna’s father has refused claims that he’s falsely using his daughter’s name to promote his business.

In January, the ‘Work’ singer opened a lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty, in which she accused him of  false advertising, invasion of privacy, and falsely using her name to promote his business, Fenty Entertainment.

Court documents seen by The Blast claim that Fenty Entertainment made a clear affiliation with the singer on its website and social media channels. Rihanna is not represented by the business and does not have any association with it.

Ronald, who is asking for the lawsuit to be dismissed, has defended the company in additional documents, alleging that his daughter’s brand hasn’t suffered any damages. He also believes that he has the right to use the name Fenty for his entertainment company.

The document reads that the defendants deny that their use of “Fenty” requires authorization from Plaintiffs”.
