T.I. has spoken out against the Leaving Neverland documentary, accusing its makers and distributors of attempting to “destroy” black culture.

The 38-year-old rapper has responded to the airing of HBO/Channel 4’s documentary, which details allegations of child sexual abuse by the late Michael Jackson, saying that the film tears down “another strong black historical LEGEND”.

“Dead men can’t speak. So what was the point again?” T.I. wrote on Instagram  “Destroy another strong black historical LEGEND?!?! It’s several examples of pedophilia in American History… if y’all pulling up all our old shit… we gotta examine ELVIS PRESLEY, HUGH HEPHNER [sic], and a whole slew of others guilty of the same if not more!!!”

“BUT WHY US all the time?”, he continued, “there’s an agenda to destroy OUR CULTURE.”

In another Instagram post, T.I. quoted a tweet that questioned why people are uncomfortable with the thought of leaving children alone with grown adults.

The rapper responded: “These are assaults against OUR CULTURE!!! Make no mistake of it!!!”
