Stevie Nicks has reacted to being the first woman to be inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice.
Yesterday (December 13), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame revealed its inductees of 2019. Nicks will be welcomed in for her solo material, while Radiohead, Janet Jackson, The Cure, Roxy Music, Def Leppard, and the Zombies will also be welcomed in.
Nicks is already part of the Hall of Fame, after Fleetwood Mac were inducted back in 1998 – just five years after they became eligible.
Now the artist will be the first woman to be a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for her work with a band as well as a solo career.
Nicks released her first solo album ‘Bella Donna’ in 1981 and went on to release a further seven LPs including ‘The Wild Heart,’ ‘Trouble in Shangri-La’ and 2014’s ’24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault’.
Writing about the news on Twitter, Nicks said: “I have a lot to say about this~ but I will save those words for later.
“For now I will just say, I have been in a band since 1968. To be recognized for my solo work makes me take a deep breath and smile. It’s a glorious feeling.”
