Ariana Grande‘s ‘Thank U, Next’ video has broken YouTube’s premiere record, with 829,000 fans viewing the clip at the same time upon its release.

The throwback video – which references classic ’00s films including Mean Girls – was unveiled on (November 30), and begins with high-school students spreading gossip and rumors about Grande.

Now, it has been reported that the newly-released visuals have already broken a huge record. According to Forbes, 829,000 viewers streamed the video simultaneously. 516,000 chat messages were also sent on the platform, with fans eager to unpick every moment.

YouTube’s official Twitter account posted: “The thank u, next video was so good, it broke the internet (or at least delayed YouTube comments from posting for a bit). Comments are still working on the video, they’re just delayed!”

At present, ‘Thank U, Next’ holds over 39,500,000 views on YouTube. It’s said that the video hit the one million mark in less than 34 minutes.
