Tems is a Nigerian singer who has become internationally famous. She is considered one of Africa’s most successful musical artists and has won many awards for her music. She recently won the prestigious Grammy Award. Tems has just released a new music video for her song “Burning.” This song is part of her first full-length album, called “Born In the Wild.”
The music video was supposed to come out earlier, but its release was delayed. This delay was due to widespread protests that began in Nigeria on August 1, 2024. People protested because of economic difficulties and rising living costs. These problems came after President Bola Tinubu made some changes to the country’s policies.
The protesters gathered in many different states across Nigeria. They wanted the government to bring back subsidies for petrol (PMS) and electricity. They also demanded that the government reduce its own spending.
Tems finally released the “Burning” music video on August 5, 2024.
The video was filmed in New York City. In the video, Tems can be seen walking through what looks like Times Square, a famous area in New York, while singing her song.
“Burning” is the third single from Tems’ new album. The album has 18 songs in total. Before “Burning,” she released two other singles: “Me & U” and “Love Me Jeje.” In “Love Me Jeje,” Tems uses some lines from a classic song of the same name by Seyi Sodimu and Shaffy Bello.
After releasing her album, Tems started a world tour. During her concerts, she performs her popular songs, including “Free Mind” and “Higher.” These songs have been very successful and many people like them.
Tems’ success continued at the 2024 BET Awards. Her song “Me & U” won the award for Best Gospel/Inspirational Song. This is Tems’ fourth BET Award in total, as she had already won three in the past.
