Ghanaian singer and songwriter Gyakie has joined the Boomplay Golden Club, receiving a golden plaque from Africa’s premier music streaming platform.
Gyakie, known as the Song Bird, achieved the milestone of surpassing 100 million streams on Boomplay, making her the first female artist from Ghana to reach this excellence.
Gyakie now stands out like other African superstars like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platnumz, Rayvanny, and Simi, who have also achieved this milestone on Boomplay.
Notable fellow Ghanaian artists in the Boomplay Golden Club include Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and Camidoh.
Expressing her gratitude upon receiving the plaque, Gyakie thanked Boomplay and her fans, acknowledging their support in reaching the impressive milestone without even having released an album yet. She hinted at an upcoming album, encouraging her fans to anticipate it and continue supporting her music.
“I would like to say a big thank you to Boomplay and my fans. To my fans, we’ve got the 100M streams, and it’s all because of you. We did it without an album by the way, so look forward to the album coming and keep running the numbers up. I am grateful.”
